Nike releases NG360 app for iOS devices

Published

on

Nike Golf has released of the latest version of its NG360 golf app for iOS devices.

Nike’s foray into this evolving world combines both fun and instructional capabilities in a neat package. Features include:

  • Score and stat tracking for up to four players (putts per round, driving accuracy and GIR), including the ability to set up virtual leaderboards to compete with friends.
  • The ability to record your own swing and analyze with built-in functionality, as well as compare your swing to Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s swings.
  • Photo sharing with custom score and statistic overlays.
  • Training videos, drills and tips of the trade, including putting tips from Dave Stockton.

The apps functionality and usability has also been enhanced, as well as including fixes for previously reported software bugs. It remains to be seen if NG360 can compete with the “big boys” of the mobile golf instruction world, but it’s price (free) should help it get downloads.

The past few years have seen a revolution in the proliferation of and capabilities of portable devices with high-resolution screens and powerful cameras, enabling tens of millions globally to record and share intimate details of their daily lives. It’s no accident that the golfing world has eagerly embraced this technology, revolutionizing golf instruction as well as providing golfers the ability to share details on one’s swing and on-course performance with friends, family and golf instructors.

This app is now available for download in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden, Scotland, and Germany via the Apple iTunes online store, with an Android version coming this summer.

Neil Crutchfield picked up the sport of golf at the tender age of 34 in 2012 and has been completely infatuated ever since, much to the chagrin of his wife and bank account. Currently, he is a 11 and working hard to get down to being a single-digit handicapper, with the ultimate goal of being scratch.

So the purpose of being able to compare our swings to Tiger is so we can make sure we don’t do it the same and have back injuries?

I’ll take the back injuries along with the 14 Majors, the 79 wins, and the hundreds of millions of dollars too, thanks!

From the Forums: I need more forgiveness in my irons – Looking for recommendations

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing the most forgiving irons currently on the market. WRXer ‘TheShark1’ is on the hunt for a new set of irons, saying:

“Currently gaming the Mizuno Pro 225’s but think I need more forgiveness in my irons. My well struck shots are real nice, but my mishits are not performing as good as I had hoped anymore. I really like hollow body irons so if I could find something more forgiving in a hollow body iron that would be great.

Open to any and all recommendations other than Ping. Can’t hit Ping irons at all.”

And our members have been sharing their best suggestions in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • AvidSwampThing66: “Another vote for the super forgiving and fast Paradym irons.   They look really good for being a GI iron.”
  • bobfoster: “I just went from MP20 MMCs to the new 245s in my scoring irons (just played my first round with them today). If you have a chance to try them, you might find them worth a serious look.”
  • vman: “Shoot me down, but spend the money on lessons.”
  • J_Tizzle: “i525s are great off the heel in my opinion.”
