Read the review on this site of the FG V2s great irons. I tried them against a number of well known brands and it came down to the Wilsons or Adams CMBs. The new V4s feel super Wilson knows how to make great irons.

@john – stupid comment… Wilson is a relevant name in golf…? really? sure they won “more majors”…. Sarazen, Hagen, Faldo, Palmer… You’re talking ages ago bud… sorry if you’re living in the past or trying to sound really smart. what a clown. golf digest hot list, golf wrx, the golf channel…. how often is anything wilson ever advertised or made to be seen? percentage wise, id say less than 5%. i’m sure you understood my premise but you’re too cool to give the nod. or maybe you’re playing the FG tour irons and scratching your scorecards. save it with the stupid comment section johnny boy-

I brought this iron for 199.00 after reading the above thread, and they are the easiest irons
to use, sound and feel pure butter, and go for miles! So marketing is working, otherwise I cant understand why pay more for ugly, cheap, bad design *hard to hit and 999.00 irons!

I really like Wilson’s irons. Troy was using them like lasers this weekend. Great win.

this also goes to show that Wilson makes clubs that can win… too many people are caught up in the brand we use as amateurs. a lot of us talk down on pros who also use clubs that we, the public rarely buy. wilson i hardly a household name in golf. i think of harrington when i think of wilson, and yes, the guy has won golf tournaments, i know. its great that sites like this bring the players and their equipment to the forefront for our viewing pleasure (or lack thereof). we can clown or downplay equipment for looks, popularity, and or personal preference, but at the end of the day, its the guy in the mirror making the swing. all of the less popular brand club maker makes a great product. a product that can win. i think we need to be a little more open minded when it comes to judging golf clubs. *** this is a general statement.

what a stupid statement, Wilson isn’t a household name in golf?
Wilson equipment has been used to win more majors in golf than any other brand, just because they did box sets and ruined their reputation doesn’t mean your memory has to be short!

For everyone who is all about Miura’s, Titleist and Mizuno. I guess this shows that any club can win as long as there is a good golfer behind it. Save money and spend it on the golf course or doing lessons.

what a silly comment “they must be muira’s with wilson badges on them” they are the same irons as you can buy in the shop.

sarcasm is lost on your evidently, whenever someone wins with Nike irons that’s the normal comment – that they’re muira’s with a different badge, people drink the big brand kool-aid something fierce around these parts

    I thought the C-Taper S+ was 125? doh?

The C-Taper S+ is 125, yes, but this would indicate he has the S, which is 120 (I have them in my irons).

He won with clubs that aren’t the norm, they must be muira’s with wilson badges on them

I was shocked how far out on the toe Merritt putts…he even lines up about 1/2″ out on the toe…
Very cool when guys do things a little differently….and his swing tempo is very reminiscent of Chris Kirk….who is reminiscent of woody austin or boo weekley…..
Always fun to see a slow tempo in the days of swinging for the fences every shot.

Could not have said it better myself.
