Callaway signs Matteo Manassero
Callaway Golf has signed four-time European Tour winner Matteo Manassero to its Tour Staff.
Manassero, 20, is the 43rd-ranked golfer in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR). He made himself known to the golf world as a 16-year-old at the 2009 British Open, where he tied for 13th and finished as the low amatuer. He has recorded a win on the European Tour every year since, winning the Castelló Masters Costa Azahar in 2010, the Maybank Malaysian Open in 2011, the Barclays Singapore Open in 2012 and most impressively the BMW PGA Championship in May 2013.
Manassero joins new signings Harris English (No. 53 in the OWGR) and Henrik Stenson (No. 3 in the OWGR) as the newest members of Callaway’s increasingly youthful Tour Staff.
A photo posted from Manassero’s Twitter account shows the golfer with Callaway’s Big Bertha Alpha driver, Big Bertha fairway wood, two X Hot hybrids, X Forged 2013 irons, X Forged wedges and an Odyssey Versa putter.

What are the driver and shaft combinations of the best golfers in the world? For gearheads, it’s an endlessly interesting question — even if we can only ever aspire to play LS heads and 7 TX shafts.
At this week’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans, GolfWRX got in-hand looks at the driver setups of a wealth of players.
Check out some of the most interesting combos below, then head to the GolfWRX forums for the rest, as well as the rest of our galleries from New Orleans.

Great signing for cally. Not the bomber type they went after last year, but definitely an elite player. Wish he’d play more overview in the states.

I’d join calaway if they ask me I’m a heartbeat! I don’t use callaway gear but hey why not? I was on the practic green with Lydia ko the day before she announced she was turning and damn I can see why they snapped her up..

A great signing for Callaway. Manassero is a great player and a true gent on the course. Best of luck to him with the new equipment.

Maybe Tiger will get tired of playing the Nike, and want to sign with Callaway. Isn’t he the only one left who hasn’t?

Another great Titleist stuff player going commercial. I guess Callaway wants to sell Big Berthas to more folks under 50. Not a bad set though.

This guy could use women’s clubs from the 80s and still be better than most other pros. Should be an easy transition here with essentially the same looks and setup as he had with Titleist.
