Rose signs endorsement deal with Lamkin grips

It has been a fantastic year for Justin Rose, and it just got a little richer for the Englishman. On Monday, he signed on to become a brand ambassador for Lamkin Golf Grips starting on Jan. 1 of next year.
Rose, who became the first Englishman to win the U.S. Open since Tony Jacklin in 1970, used Lamkin Grips to win the first major of his career, and will now become the main face of the company alongside Arnold Palmer. Palmer began his official relationship as an ambassador for Lamkin in 1997 after using their grips for several decades.
Bob Lamkin, the CEO of Lamkin Golf Grips, noted Rose’s renowned and reputable personality both on and off the golf course as a premier reason for the company’s interest in making him a brand ambassador.
“Has earned the respect and adoration of millions of worldwide fans and I am truly honored to have him represent our brand,” Lamkin said in a press release.
Though Rose’s position as an official brand ambassador for Lamkin will only formally begin on Jan. 1, Rose’s use of Lamkin’s signature grips has dated back more than 15 years of his career, which has now seen him climb to fifth in the Official World Golf Rankings. Rose also finished in seventh in the FedEx Cup standings in 2013.

Rose is currently using Lamkin’s 3GEN grips, snf will be used in several advertising, publicity and marketing campaigns starting in 2014. Furthermore, Rose will continue to test and review Lamkin’s developments in new grips, giving the company the opportunity to receive product performance reviews from one of golf’s best players.

Tour Edge shares photos of never-before-seen square driver from 2007

The year was 2007. The famous/infamous Nike Sasquatch Sumo2 was released the year prior, ditto the Callaway FT-i. It was a (brief) time when, if you were a driver, it was hip to be square.
Fast forward 16 years. Tour Edge revealed on social media this week that it had plans to add right angles to its Exotics line with an epic #TBT post, writing:
“For this #throwbackthursday we’re going to prove that sometimes a product just wasn’t destined to come out…
“That’s the case with this one-of-a-kind Exotics XSi square driver.
“The XSi stood for XTREME SUPER INERTIA, and we were following the design trend of the day back in good ol’ 2007…
“But [in] the end cooler heads prevailed and this one was left on the shelf.
“Literally, we just found it on a shelf in our “museum” and almost every single person who was here at the time had forgotten about it, or just plain never knew it existed.”
Check out photos of the Tour Edge Exotics XSi, below!
