UST Mamiya Elements “Chrome” shaft spotted

GolfWRX spotted a first look of the new “Chrome” shaft out of the PGA Tour this week. This looks to be the next iteration of UST Mamiya Recoil technology.
According to UST…
There is currently only one version and we think it is the right direction. If you look at traditional/current design on wood shafts, it has been to maximize hoop strength in the butt section to eliminate wall flex. With the development of RECOIL Iron Shafts, our engineering team determined that some hoop flex has a positive influence on golf shaft performance. Elements Chrome is for players wanting to generate more ball speed. We have seen increases of 3-5 mph ball speed. This is only one element in making this shaft work.
In the testing we have seen, mid launch with low spin and again increased efficiency with regards to ball speed. It was the same thing we noticed with RECOIL Iron Shafts – better dispersion and ball speed.
It would be hard to compare this to any current offerings because it is a different design than we have done in the past.
