I am SERIOUSLY considering joing here; the Oasis Golf Club, located East of Cincinnati, Ohio. In my opinion, this is one of the BEST golf courses in this area. I like it even better than the TPC River's Bend (another Arnold Palmer course) that I played (actually it played me) just a few weeks ago. The Oasis course was designed by Mr. Arnold Palmer and is marketed as such. This golf club has been sold and/or changed hands two or three times since opening back in 1997. I believe that it is privately owned now. I am really close to pulling the trigger and joining here. I just have to decide if I am willing to travel a lot less on out of state golf trips. Tough decision! The conditions here are first rate, the greens awesome. nice and fast a receptive to all shots. The practice area is very nice, although the practice putting green does not have any flat spots on it at all! Just like at the nearbyTPC of River's Bend, 'ol Arnie likes those long and narrow green setups that appear to be a common denominator in his designs. There is ample room to land off the tee here, but don't be fooled, you'll be trying to punch a wedge out of the heather grass if you wander too far in any direction. If you swing hard, you'll get out first swing, but the ball will spurt out any which way. There is a decent amount of water here that can easily steal your shots if you slip up. The 18th hole is about 460 yards from the back tees and it just may be the hardest Par 4 in the city. It could easily play as a TOUGH, but short, par 5 hole. The course almost has a "linksy" feeling to it and if the houses would disappear it might qualify as a links layout. About the only thing I dislike about this course is that it has more houses around than I like to see while playing (designed as a golf community) and it is not completely "walker friendly" although quite a few people seem to walk here. There is also a fairly busy road the separates 6 holes of the front nine from the rest of the course. From the back tees, it measures 6921 yards (rating =72.4, slope = 136). If you play the middle tees it is around 6100 with a tough slope of 130. Overrall, I would rate this as one of the top courses, public or private in the greater Cincinati area. I am sure, once I decide to cut down on my golf trips, that this is where I will join. Probably sooner, rather than later.

PS: BTW, the course record here is a SICK "61" by current PGA Tour player, former Indiana University golfer, JEFF OVERTON.

Great Review. Don't join though because I would miss all the course reviews!
