I'm curious to know if you are willing to share the total cost for this trip, including Monte's fee and all travel expenses.

Bet you have the urge to hit balls right now......I did after my session, I think I've hit  balls everyday since last Wednesday. Monte told me exactly what my miss would be and what caused it, and that it would take time to retrain myself.

Today was the first time I hit without thinking about a couple things. It was my second bucket and I think I pured 13-15 6 irons in a row, I stopped counting.

I was frustrated for a few days, very frustrated (with my inability to put it all together) but I'm coming out the otherside and it feels great.

3 yard draw Monte ;)

I'll try to swing by and say thanks this week

Thanks for taking the time to document everything, OP.  Can't wait to see how your swing evolves over the next few days.  You've already got some awesome results.  Soak it all in, and absorb everything Monte has got to say!

No love for the awesome sand shot?

Here is a swing sequence.  Before is on RIGHT and after on left.

Swing on right was 91-95 mph.

On left was 107... Another swing I didn't film got up to 116.

The SSR I have runs about 3-5 mph faster than a Trackman, but fairly consistent.
Props to Monte and Schnee on incredible progress so quickly. Amazing teacher and amazing student.

I occasionally try to be the devils advocate on this site on Monte's ideas (with the intention of widening the dialogue past the usual "Monte's the best" type remarks), but he's truly talented at what he does. The results he gets from his students is impressive in a field where golfers taking lessons often remain stagnant.

Everybody get your lessons with him while he still has time for us regular joes. Soon more tour pros will catch on and we'll probably be seeing more of Monte's watchful eye on the range of majors and other tour events. Also, I want his career to take off even more than it already has because I want to see the controversy Monte creates when he calls out other top teachers by name in a publication like Golf Digest. I can already imagine an article titled "Why You Need to Forget Everything David Leadbetter Has Ever Written About Golf" by Monte Scheinblum

After going to Roger Dunn and grabbing a few odds and ends, I decided to go for a drive. I wound up in Huntington beach and took the suggestion to go to Slater's 50/50. Awesome tip! It was really good. I got the B-B-B bacon burger. It was 50/50 groun beef and bacon patty, thick cut bacon, and thousand island on a bacon pretzel nun. It normally comes with a sunny-side up egg but I opted out. I'm not a big fan of egg on a burger. I also got some slater's fries too. It wasn't cheap, but I've eaten atore expensive burger places. Id say it was worth the money. The staff was incredibly friendly and they have a ton of beers on tap. After I left there I went for a drive down the PCH through Newport Beach and Costa Del Mar. Scotty picked some good areas to name his putters after.

LOL, thanks JA.

You mean like this......

Did you see him smacked up
And cracked up
With his tongue on his chin
And his club in his hand,
Swinging from the rafters
Like a real RocknRolla

I'll be staying at the Wyndham Avenue of the Arts for the last two nights. It's a little modern for my taste but still very nice. It's in Costa Mesa and in a cool area. The staff are friendly and there's plenty of parking (paid). The room is a good size as well. They only had rooms with two queen beds but that's not a big deal. I think there's better choices if you were to pay full price, but I got a great deal from orbitz. All in all it's a solid hotel.

Is it true that there is some contest where the winner gets a free lesson with DL?
And second prize was two lessons?

Added: That's a really significant improvement in a very short time. Props to both you and Monte.

Awesome you found your way to RD and Slaters!    Glad you enjoyed the burgers.   Progress looks great, and I'm sure you'll have a good time on your round tomorrow.   Oak is great.   I do actually prefer Strawberry Farms (they also have a resident discount) - give it a shot if you have time as the back 9 is enjoyable (around a large reservoir).

5am, sitting at my desk at work and now I am craving a big juicy burger!  Dang you!  Not to mention the slip and slide ride to work due to an ice storm last night and the DOT's minimal use of sand and salt.  I am so ready for summer time!  I am extremely jealous of your weather and the fact you get 3 days with Monte!

I usually go with a 4x4 animal fries and a chocolate shake. I guess I'm officially a real man! Woohoo! Spending the winter in palm desert was probably the best decision I ever made.

It shows how little I know (though to be fair I can't ever remember claiming on the forum I know anything, lol)

When I was looking at the before and after stills, the first four pics I thought the 'before' looked better.  ( I was thinking that the before looked more centred at the top , and the hands looked more in front of the body at p6) The impact and frames afterwards, though on the after look so much better and more natural to even my untrained eye. That swing-speed pick-up is just insane!!

I guess it sort of goes back to Monte's thread about chasing looks or results, and it doesn't help when things you think 'look' good aren't necessarily desirable.

Great stuff Monte and CShnee, Thanks for a very interesting thread and enjoy the next two days!

Nice difference in before/afters, more turn back and looked like saving some torso rotation coming down and then just pound it. Looking forward to more trip reports.

Off topic, I could smell the char coming off my computer screen from that first burger pic you posted, and of course, I had to have burgers for dinner. If you want to make a great burger at home on the grill, buy a chuck roast, cut into cubes, put into a food processor and pulse no more than 10 times. You will have the makings of a nice burger with ribbons of fat running through it. Try it, you will never buy pre-made or use 80/20 again.

I got a 3 hour session with Monte near the end of March and now I'm even more excited. That after pic that showed the dropping of the clubhead, I never knew what meant, but it really shallowed things out. I think I actually try to get steeper when I struggle, like a batter hitting a shoe top pitch.

OP - please throw a salad in there to keep yourself regular if you know what I'm saying. I can mail you some fruit if you want.

Great progress  guys. Definitely love here for the bunker shot as I suck at them. There are alot of my possessions I would give up to be able to swing a trip like this. Can't wait to see how it all plays out.
