I hope Leupold sends me a new range finder... I just sent in my GX3i for the 3rd time last week because it would not power on. I purchased it new less than 2 years ago.  The first 2 times I sent it in I received the same one back and the paper work said that they replaced some type of a faulty board.  The work was done at no charge, and they paided the shipping to send it back to me.

Has any one else had to send their range finder in multiple times because it would not power on?

I had an issue very similar to the OP with my GX3i...lower part of the numbers were fading.  Had my pro call/send it in and a new GX3i2 arrived at the club in about a week.  My first rangefinder was a Pinseeker 1500 that started not ranging past about 100 yards a day or so after the warranty expired.  They wanted quite a bit of money to fix it, so I went with a competitor on principle.  When my GX1 stopped turning on out of warranty, I didn't send it in...as I wanted to upgrade to the GX3 and didn't want to pay (I presumed) for repair on a pretty beat up GX1.

I will never own a non-Leupold rangefinder again.

Seems like a lot of failures ... Sorry to be Billy Bad News

I had the same issue with 3 Bushnells and when I got my 3rd free replacement I flipped it at golf town for a Nikon .. Zero problems since

At some point, IN MY OPINION, you need to question why a rangefinder fails, sometimes repeatedly ... And all that work required costs you money

Kudos to Leupold for great c/s based on the stories above .. They get IT clearly

My Leupold Gx-4i was randomly changing my settings to default, so I called Leupold if they can fix it. They told me to send it over. Yesterday i received a brand new Leupold Gx-4i2. Leupold went above and beyond.IMG_0613.JPG

Largely because of this thread, I will be receiving a new gx-2i today.  My old Nikon (Callaway branded) has become very inconsistent.  It will read some flags and not others which is very frustrating.  It is useless trying to scope anything else, which I have lived with for a while, but now, not being able to get reads on half the pins (they all have prisms) is simply unacceptable.  I purchased the Leupold last week, and cannot wait to get it.  It is nice to know, if it craps out, I have somewhere to turn for relief.  I wanted a rf with slope bc I do not play tournaments and my home course and most of the others we play around here have severe elevation changes from fairway to greens.

I've been researching which rangefinder to get and have today ordered a Leupold GX-3i². A lot of it was down to that product being legal; working in fog; being *tank* like; having a very readable screen; <b>and</b> an awful lot to do with the apparent customer service I will be getting on what is to me an extremely expensive piece of hobby-kit.  Just don't tell the wife, ...

I have the same story as everyone here. Settings on my gx4i would reset a few times a round. Sent in in and got a brand new gx4i squared in the mail with no questions asked.

Ok my 11 year old Bushnell that has flown the world just crapped out on me. I am loving the stories about Leupold customer support.

But ifmy old Bushnell went over a decade why am I reading so many stories about various Leupold crap outs?  Does Leupold have durability issues?

I will say I like how their rangefinder handles.

I had a great leupold experience. Not sure if it is in this thread or another, but I left mine in my trunk during storm sandy.  Sent it back, was just expecting a discount on a new one and they ended up sending me brand new updated version within a week.  I ended up giving that to a friend after I  was given a bushnell tour v2 as a gift.  That stopped working after a few months, and bushnell actually sent me a free replacement.  That was beginning of 2013.  End of last year I either dropped it or banged it and now the graphics inside are titlted towards a corner and it doesnt work from more than about 200 yards out so I gave that to a friend.  Found a great deal on amazon on a gx2 and now that is what im using.

My 2 cents is that because electronics are so buggy, it can happen with any unit with any company, so you might as well go with the undoubted best customer service in the game.

So I was dreading calling the CS line @ Leupold because I lost the Chrome faceplace on my GX4i2 but called this morning. They called me back (love when companies have this feature) and informed me that the chrome faceplate was going to be absolutely...FREE! Who does that? I'm so glad I went leupold.

My Leupold GX-3i² has finally arrived. Can't wait to try it out Saturday morning.

Arrived at the second time of asking (first apparently mis-delivered to someone in a town miles away) from GolfSpin for a very decent price (granted, it's a grey import).

I purchased a Leupold GX-4 several years ago.  While pleased with the device, I seemed to struggle to lock in on flags.  I do not have the most steady hands and assumed that the unit was simply to small for me to use accurately.  A few weeks ago, I played with a friend who was using a similar unit.  I was able to use it without more easily.  I placed a call to Leopold and returned my GX-4 for evaluation.  Last evening I received a new GX-4i via UPS.

I certainly did not expect to receive a new rangefinder as I have received good use from my current unit.  I simply wanted to pass along to everyone another story of the Company's exceptional client service.

+1 for Leupold...

After some research--and the positive feedback of Leupold's CS--I decided to pull the trigger and purchased a GX-4i as my first rangefinder in early 2015. Shortly after receiving it, the GX-4i2 was newly released which would make the non-slope faceplate tournament legal. I gave the company a call and shipped my new GX-4i with a short letter about a possible swap, and got a new GX-4i2 in the mail within two weeks.

Certainly buyers remorse that a newer model was just released after my purchase, but it never hurts to ask...and extremely pleased with Leupold's response and upgrade.

I wish I had a great customer service story to tell but my GX3 has been rock solid since I purchased it a couple years ago.  I laugh when people I play with take so long to get their yardage on another brand finder.  One guy slaps his other brand range finder just to get it to work.  I have urged each of them to by a Leupold based on the quality of the unit, the speed of the unit and now the customer service.  I am the most loyal consumer in the world and consider Leupold one of the best!!!

Wow!  I have the exact same problem with my GX3.  Unit works AMAZING and is super fast.  Just always assumed I couldn't lock onto prisms due to my shaky hands.  MAYBE 1 flag a round I can get to lock on, maybe.  Perhaps I should give Leopuld a call.

Another positive to leupold. Carry case fell off my cart other day,empty bag was run over by the lawnmower man. Needless to say,carry case didn't make it. called Leupold today,sending a replacment case FREE!!!!  Guy wouldn't even let me pay for shipping. Very happy and LOYAL customer.

posted about my experience in my original thread but here it is


being in manila i did not think it was possible to send my unit it as i got it off eBay.
long story short i used the rangefinder all the way to 2015. thats well out of warranty and 3 years since it first exhibited problems.
it was so bad that i could only see 3 digits the middle digit was also blank. so i could easily be short by a full 0-9 yards. still i decided
to use it til someone changed it to Meters and i got fed up.

all this while i have been trying to call leuopold in oregon but everytime id try it would always be closed due to time difference in asia. i attempted
many times to stay up to 1am to give them a call but i am always boozed up if I'm awake at this time. finally in desperation i took a shot in the dark
and emailed one of their retailers. i got a reply from leupold international and told me to send the unit in. sent them the unit via international mail, they got
it in 5 days and mailed me a new upgraded GX4I2 no questions asked. i should have it any day now, they even paid for the shipping.

i stand behind leupolds Golden circle ! lifetime warranty, no paperwork needed, no proof of ownership, i could have been the 5 th owner and they would
fix it or replace it within reason. i am a leupold man for life!!!

I have sent my Leupold G-X3i in thru the Pro and shop I bought it. It has been two weeks. I have not heard anything yet, but am awaiting  to hear an outcome. Hoping for positive results. The range finder stopped giving accurate yardages and he checked it and found the same thing. Here is to hoping.

Unfortunately I sent mine back thru the place were I purchased it. It is now like 6-7 weeks and nothing. I was told thru my salesman that he was told by his rep that I should have sent it in direct. I guess I am hoping for a good outcome on this. I do know that I will not have it for anymore season up here in Massachusetts. Much to my dismay, guess I learned a lesson in all this. my guy told me that Leupold reacts first to direct consumers, I would think that a place that sells 50-100 units a year might get some attention also. My gut feeling is to be kind of disappointed. Will update when I get more information.

I sent in a my rangefinder that I have had for at least 6 years on October 21st. The middle digit had started to fade and it was tough to differentiate yardages. I had called and asked if they could repair it and the guy on the phone said "yes" they could take care of it, so I included a note about the problem and figured after a couple weeks I would either be told that it was too old and out of warranty or the awesome solution would be they would fix it and send it back.

I get home last night and there is a box from Leupold waiting for me and I think "Awesome turnaround time! It must have been an easy fix" (since no one had contacted me to tell me there was a problem).

I open the box and my rangefinder was not in there :(

BUT This was!!!





A+ Customer Service! They now have a fan for life and I will recommend them to anybody I meet.

Good customer service would have been fixing it or taking a look and saying "sorry sir, it is too old", OUTSTANDING Customer Service is replacing it with a new in plastic updated model!
