Have not been able to see or hit the Left hand Apex irons yet. I really like the X-hot Pros .
So for those that have hit both these irons . Which is longer  ?  Which is more forgiving ?
thanks gb

I see no one has replied to your question so I'll try to help out.

No question the Apex standard irons are longer. You have to remember that the lofts are quite strong on the Apex and they also have a hot 455 carpenter face welded in that really shoots the ball out there. I can't remember the lofts on the XHP but they're pretty strong as well.

In terms of forgiveness I'd have to give the Apex the edge there too. They have a little bit bigger look to me and a little wider sole to help with slightly heavy shots.

I know from hitting the X2hp irons on the trip that those irons were manageable up to the 5 iron for me. The Apex were easier to hit all around vs. those too.

From what I've read about the forgiveness from most to least:
Xhot
Apex
XhotPro
ApexPro
X Forged

I saw the fullset of the APEX irons for the 1st time today and I was VERY impressed with the looks 4-AW.  To ME they are exactly the same look at the XHP at address.  I was very surprised at the offset in the long irons.  to ME they had less then i20's.  I typically avoid GI irons due to the offset but I sooooo could play these.  They just shot to the top 2 on my list of next irons (AP2 714s are the other).

To me, I did not think they looked exactly the same as X HOT pros.    The apex (non pro) are bigger and with the long irons I could see the rear edge of the club (the back cavity) as I was addressing the ball, not while I was ready to backswing but while I was getting set, it was distracting to me.  ALso the offset and size of the club was noticeably bigger.  Would like to see the APEX PRO's.  I'm sure they will be a more similar club to the XHOT PROs.

Hit both tonight... Apex pro is longer. Period.
I'd also say it's more forgiving. It goes straighter. I'm not currently swinging well enough to work the ball so I hear xhot pros are more workable but I couldn't tell ya.

From address, I prefer the apex. Something about the finish I think. Offsets are similar but apex sets up so nice. I bought em....

I've hit both and I would say that Apex are softer feeling , a bit longer and more forgiving, but the accuracy of the x hot pro is better, mostly due to the Px 95 versus the Xp 95. There is a significant number of no up charge shafts available for the Apex, including the Px 95 in the XHP. I'm gonna wait for the updated Cally fitting cart with the Pxi, Kbs tour, and Recoil 110 before I decide.

The XHP is longer and more accurate.  They feel better as well.  The Apex does not know what it wants to be in terms of feel.  It may say forged but if you are expecting traditional forged feel you will be disappointed. Forgiveness goes to the Apex but not by much.  For a player's iron, the XHP is the most forgiving I've ever hit.

Re: looks, the Apex is thicker and bigger all around and has more offset than the XHP.  I don't like the look of the XHP short irons but I got used to them.  However, I expect the X2HP short irons to look better and may upgrade if they do.

I have to agree on the feel comment here. I just hit the Apex vs. the original XHP yesterday and I preferred the sound/feel of the XHP. The Apex did not sound bad at all, just a bit different. Not as muted but still nice.

Curious to known which iron you found  more forgiving and which was longer in your opinion ?

I compared the Xhot pro's against the Apex on a trackman and it wasn't even close.  Apex's has 2-3mph higher ball speed and were longer by 8-10yds.  Distance was closer with the regular Xhot's though.  That was with stock shafts.

Apex is more forgiving but not by much.  The XHP is better in every other area.  For me, a thinner sole is key which is why I find the XHP easier to hit.  I also found the XHP longer.  I was hitting mine which have PX 95 5.5 hard-stepped once vs the Apex with XP 95 S300.  Maybe that was the difference.  The PX95 is also a much more accurate shaft.  Glad Cally offers it as a no charge option.

Goes without saying that these are my opinions.

I would love to see all the posts over the years from people who claim to get 8-10 more yards out of their new irons vs their previous.  By now, some of them should be hitting 300 yd 9 irons!

I tried the xhp last week and was really surprised with  the results  how easy it was to hit and it was longer for me the the regular X hot, 714 Ap1 & G25 . I wondering if the px 95 shaft is just a great fit for me as didn't care for the xp 95 shaft in the ap1's, So it has me wondering if the Apex will be even better with a px 95 ?
The other thing I liked about the xhp was the nice clean contact I was making with them and that maybe the narrower sole than the others.

Going from a traditional loft iron to apex I gained nearly 20... It's not apples to apples but it's also true...
