Noticed that at the President's Cup, there wasn't a white belt in sight.  Is the trend officially dead?

Taking fashion cues from President's Cup (and Ryder Cup for that matter) uni's over the years would lead to some... let's just say unique..."styles".
Not a place I'd go to looking for new gear (clothes).

I would never take a fashion statement from the PC uni's from this year. They looked terrible and nothing stood out. Ryder Cup uni's were better last year because they were Polo and polo makes items that look great and blend well together, and IMO Ashworth doesnt.

I thought it went out with DISCO, in the 70s.  What is old is new again.

You can't go by what they wore at the Presidents Cup, they had their clothes picked for them (uniforms).

I figured that Ashworth would put their most stylish clothes forward at the event.  I guess that I over-thought that one!

White belts are going to be around for a while.  But here is something to think about,  Its that time of year where people start wear black, browns, and maybe bark blues.  Fall and winter time is when all the bright colored/white belts go in the closet until spring and summer.  Thats my humble oppion.

Agreed, I think I may have even seen pleated pants....just not my style. I've never been a shorts on course guy, but I would still rock white belt, orange, etc...usually whatever sets off the little color in shoes or shirt. But would never take style cues from whomever outfitted PC team. Those shirts are for hanging on the wall with an autograph.

I disagree. Personally i think that everyone is wearing better, bigger, cooler belts now than they used to. Belts are an accessory now, as apposed to something that was just ignored

Dead?  No... Played out? A little (IMO).

White belts look great with the right stuff - which I'm cool with mixing in here and there, along with colored belts as well.  I find people tend to over-do it by rocking them everytime out like their fresh off the fasion line.

I have to say I've found myself wearing a little more subdued belts throughout this year, and leaving my white / colored belts in my closet.  I've been sticking with black, grays and even tan/sand the majority of the time.

One can only hope.....

I thought it was dead back in the 1970s with chest hair, and polyester leisure suits.

With exception to his verticle striped ranbow cardigan, everything else Dangerfield is wearing is just about in right now, down to the style of his polo, his big somewhat straight brimmed hat, etc... lol.  Dude is mint!

I'm 44. Yesterday I wore light gray shorts, with a dark gray IJP shirt and gray/ yellow IJP argyle vest. White shoes, white hat and white belt. It is not dead when worn with the right outfit.

Dead, as in no longer trendy, popular or fashionable, or dead, as in no longer stylish?  Two very different questions and two very different answers.
