I graduate from law school on Friday, but as of now I am still finishing up a paper for a Land Use Law class.  Fortunately I was able to incorporate golf into the last thing I am going to do for school.

I have tried to find out how long the typical course takes to build but have not been able to find it anywhere.  I am writing my paper on the Bayonne Golf Club and Liberty National Club that were built on former brownfield (polluted) sites in New Jersey.  Because of the requirements and clean up these courses both took 8 or 9 years to build and I would like a number for how long the average course takes just for comparison.

Both of the courses are pretty interesting (and expensive) and there is a lot of information on the internet if anybody wants to learn more.

Thanks for your help.

Here you go,

http://www.amickgca.com/building.htm

There is an answer in there, as well as a reference site for your footnote or biblio.
