I'm headed back to Playa Del Carmen at the end of August and need some suggestions on courses. I'm staying at The Fairmont Mayakoba and have played El Camaleon several times. Looking for some other ideas.

Any help is appreciated!

Just played Playa Paraiso 2x last week and it was in great shape. Not as good as it looked on Big Break, but it is a hard but fair course.

Thanks for the info. Did you stay at the hotel on the course or somewhere else. Do you remember what the green fee was?

I stayed there but if you don't, I believe it's $129

I've played and stayed a couple of times at the Iberostar and played the Playa Pariaso.  Both times I was surprised with the shape of the course.  The last time was July 2012 and they had a bad weather week and there were only a handful of us on the course.  I felt bad for taking divots because the course was in such great shape.  It was like nobody had played in 30 days...fun course and I believe is was ~$100 or so.  I highly recommend it for that area.  It wasn't long but you didn't have much room if you missed the fwy.

Just played here this week. Was staying at the resort so was no charge for me. But it was in absolutely perfect condition. I probably saw 3x as many workers as players on the course. The greens are wild but they hold and aren't fast enough to make unplayable. Only exception is 18 green which was just a bit too absurd. There is a lot more elevation change than you'd expect, manufactured or not. Really a beautiful and fun golf course.
