Yes, the course I play has two 18 holes. When I play the shorter course I carry a 3 and 4 iron for a couple of lay up tee shots. But the long course I ditch the long irons and carry a 3 and 4 hybrid, no lay ups , just need distance. But those are the only clubs I've ever tried swapping out.

I'd love to have the control necessary to hit either of those clubs, especially the 2-iron. Do you just use 2 woods when bagging that?

Driver
3 wood
3-pw
56 bent to 54
60
Either 64 or 2 iron or both and drop the 3 iron.
If it is a short tight track where I'll take a lot of irons off the tee I will drop the 3 iron and use the 2 iron and 64. The 64 is an amazing tool in a pinch around the greens and my 2 iron goes about 250 and I can hit it very straight. This has been my best ballstriking year so far and I am hitting my irons really well so the 2 iron is a weapon right now instead of a burden.

I don't remember the last time I hit my 3 wood or 3 iron - my 2 hybrid has taken there place for the most part, given that I don't go for any green over 240.

When it's really dry out, or I'm playing in a scramble, I'll try different combinations of long irons or break out my steel heads to get balls rolling along the ground.

I have an old Ping Eye2 BeCu 2 iron for a long, wide open, links like course I play. I also have an I20 5 wood for another course that has a very long par 3, and 3 of the par 5s which have elevated greens. I actually have 17 clubs I play/practice- Driver 3,4,5 woods, 2-PW, UW,SW, LW and putter. Very rarely carry more than 12.

My bag rarely changes regardless of course played these days. I feel my setup works for any course and especially my home course.

Driver
3 wood
2-PW
52, 58
Putter

I could drop the 3 wood and not miss it. I love the 2 iron off the tee.
JPX 825 Driver/3w
Anser 17* Hybrid

CMB 5-PW
