Wesley Graham, #7 or so in the nation for juniors plays in a lot of my tournaments, lives just a few towns over, a friend of mine, is on the Titleist Junior Staff and is playing the new D4. Looks pretty sweet to me. Must be nice to get stuff for free.

With the right shaft on the D4 and a high swing speed...the D4 is money!

hey all:I will say this about titleist they doen't release a new driver just about every other week like tm does.their motto seems to be if it works why change.I think having many choices can be both good and bad.Good cause you can get whats best for your game, but bad cause inevidebly with too many models avallible some aren't sell well and then companies are stuck with to much product out there that isn't selling.Just my thoughts :bad:

The D4 looks absolutely beautiful to my eyes a real deep face that looks like the 905s R510DF. This is what I thought the D2 was going to look like before it was released this past year at 460cc. I guess they saved that design for the Cobra line up that year "Pro D."

One of the guys i play with just got one from his brother on the Nationwide. Its an 8.5 with a V2 Stiff and it is by far the longest driver i have ever seen. I play a Tour 905R and the D4 is better looking, deeper, and straighter. Titleist should go back to their roots (Remember Serious Clubs for Serious Golfers) cause the D1 looks like something Callaway would produce....Its a shame that as of now they arents going to produce it, cause id buy it the second it came out

I'd bet several will be appearing in auctions within the next several months.  But I agree, they should bring the D4 to retail.  It will kinda be like the "famed" 983X.  Titleist said they didn't exist...but we know the truth.  I also wish they would come out with a non-bore thru driver, easier to reshaft!!!!

God Bless
Jer

My son was recently tested and fit for a driver in the Titleist Tour Van facility at a tournament he was playing in.

The D4 is designated as a super low spin driver for players with very high spin and high speed swings. They don't like to dispense them to players unless they can't bring down the spin with lower lofts and/or low launching shafts.

D4 is Tour only and won't come to retail according to the Titleist fitting guys.

Has anyone measured the faces?  It actually appears that the D4 has a deeper face then the D2....sorry if this has already been mentioned.

Word is Tom Pernice is the only one playing the D4.

I am impressed. Hit mine for the first time today and found lots of control (not as much as the Dymo 380) but a little more distance (not as much as the RBZ Tour) but what a great club.  Little did I know but I am also impressed with the Bassara 63X. I cant say enough as far as this being the next logical step up from the 510 TP or even the J33. I am looking forward to a round with it.

Wowzers!  This thread was brought back to life after more than 5 years...  That said I'm probably one of the very few people who will actually own up to hitting and enjoying the 907 D2 (with G.D. YS-6 S).  I thought the D4 was a tour-only model that wasn't available for retail?

That's correct, but you can still find a few floating around on the bay now and again.

Yes it is. I just can't find room for it in the bag. It is so good, but I know I will be looking for the new Taylormade etc soon.
