hey guys I just ordered a blueboard 103x. its been tipped a half inch and i'm planning on putting it in my 3 wood...(still debating on 910 or 913 fd). I am still unsure how much I should tip additionally. I play woods a little shorter than standard and like a lower ball flight! any suggestions on tipping?

Standard is to tip a shaft 1/2" each time you move down from driver to 3w to 5w and so on.

I have a really hard time believing that shaft going into a 3w, as heavy and stiff as it is, needs to be tipped more.

I think Tiger Woods would be challenged to load that thing properly! ;)

Still, even if it's what you want you're screwed if you make a mistake and cut more off than you want, especially considering what it's re-sale could be.

Install it as is and leave it long.  Try it and do additional tipping as needed.  I liked my Diamana 103-X all the way in my 906F2 and heavily tipped in other fairways.  But each person has their own preference in feel and launch.

I think you should be fine With normal tipping. These really aren't as stiff as people think, I've hit the Covert Tour 3 wood with this shaft off the deck and it got up nicely. I will probably game this shaft but in 83X for my 3,5 woods.

Yeah start with what it's already at and play it 1/2 long. Then if you need to tip it 1/4 or 1/2 inch more you have room to work with.

ya thanks guys. I play my woods 1 inch shorter than standard so maybe a inch off the butt. I think that would be best. I don't know how much tipping it a extra half inch would affect the ball flight.
