For me it has been the 9.5 High bore XL Tour hands down. I have a Rapture, Superquad, G5 and a FT-5 all with the same shaft (UST V2 76 gram X) and they are all in the garage and the XL is in the bag.

I just bought the new Ping Rapture series driver and I am pleased with the results, but there are many nice choices out there you really cannot go wrong with picking any of the latest drivers out there.  Just find one that has best looks and feel for you, I also liked the new Taylor Made Burner driver as well

If you don't care if it is legal or not then go for a .860 TaylorMade driver.

From what I hit, the hottest face considering misses and pure hits was the ft-5

Hibore XL for me, and I've hit all the new drivers.  I swear it goes farther than an .860 COR ERC Fusion driver I have lying around

Hottest face? Thinnest?

That was the old days before COR limit rules was enforce.

Feel hot! YES... Those are because the combination of shaft spec, sound and how the head weight distribution are at the right place and combo for your particular swing speed and style. Of course there are other factors which will make your head spin to understand every detail of it. :busted2:

I agree 100%. Find a head you are comfortable with at address. That is absolutely the most important aspect. Then try different lofts to get the launch about right, then try different shafts to fine tune spin and launch.

Launch monitors on outdoor ranges help a lot, but make sure you don't use only range balls when testing. I know several people who got killer results on the range, only to discover that their Pro V1 spun way too much on the course!

I demoed Cobras,D1,D2,Burner,Burner tp,Rapture,Fti,Ft5,BB460,Superquad. All good when well struck. Burners were hot but I didn,t care for longer shaft. All in all for me the Superquad seemed to have the hottest face and was the longest by slight margin.

Have not found any driver head hotter than the 905R.
TM 425TP comes second for me.
I have been experimenting with the Sumo (not square) and, if you get over the fact that it does not have a great feel and the sound is cr@# it delivers the ball long and straight. But it's just not as explosively long as the 905R and nor is anything else I have played.

I played the 905 R all last year with various shafts and enjoyed the driver. For me,the Superquad was a hotter/longer club.If you haven,t yet, you may want to give one a try .JMHO.

Have to agree 100%.  Sumo feel is lacking, and my FT-3 & G5 are both 10-20 longer than it.  But I have never been in more fairways in my golf life.  Such a consistent stick.

The 907D1 I have been experimenting with has a very "springy" face.

Kwok right on as usual.  In my experience, take a clubhead you like and switch shafts----huge difference. Take a shaft you like and switch clubheads----little difference
