Had a nice session at Novo Golf in NY for a driver fitting. I'm a lefty, so choices were more limited, however, still some surprising results. Thought I'd share.
I'm using a Titleist 910 D3 now with Motore F1 65. Baseline numbers were 101.9 club speed, 138.9 ball speed, 4100 RPMs, 1.36 smash, and 212 total distance. It was an outdoor fitting in 20 degree weather with range balls, so I wasn't overly worried about the short distnace - took me a while to get dialed in.
Razr Fit Extreme with Ahina got me to 102.6 club speed, 147.4 ball speed, 3489 RPMs, 1.44 smash, and 235.4 total distance.
Ping G25 was eliminated, as was R1. They didn't feel right to me, nor look right to my eye. Hard to explain, but I just didn't feel like I was comfortable with them.
Then, I tried the RBZ stage 2. Messed around with shafts until the Kiyoshi Black 65. Club speed jumped to 104.8, ball speed 144.8, 2903 RPM, 1.38 smash, and 231.3 total. Felt great, and much better than the others. Fooled around with a few more shafts until the new Diamana B series.
Club speed 104.6, 151.4 ball speed, 2231 RPM, 1.45 smash, 248.9 total. I would never have thought the RBZ stage 2 would be my club, but hard to argue with this performance. And, of course, it would be a shaft that costs as much as a mortgage, but oh well.
