Hello all,

Are there any issues removing a R11 adapter and replacing it with a Ping adapter?
  • Shaft integrity?
  • Cosmetically?
  • Playabilty?
  • Etc.?

I have a chance to purchase a R11 shaft at a good price but I'm hesitant without knowing more.

Any help would be appreciated.

Heads should also weigh the same and the same amount of shaft should be in the heads.

I don't know these clubs so you're on your own. However, the shafts do change performance depending on the head weight and also the amount of shaft in the head.

Check whether the r11 shaft has a plastic or metal sleeve.

Not sure if pulling the r11 sleeve if it is the plastic variety will work as well as the metal version.

Never done it myself.  Anyone have any experience?

One problem can be forgetting how hot the adapter is after the pull. Don't forget and pick it up to early.

Tipping on the two is identical= NONE.

Just be careful that you don't overmelt the plastic ferrule on the R11 adapter and gunk up your shaft by bonding it on.

The only other thing I can think of is that the PING adapters are 335 and unless your r11 is a TP, the shaft and sleeve are of the 350 ilk.

Good point about the hosel size but I know that the shaft only comes in a.335 size so no worries there.

Thanks for the reply.
