I am looking to buy new wedges to go with my MP-64s. I am looking to Vokey and wondering what your favorite finish is.

I personally like the oil can.  It seems that is what a lot of tour pros use, which probably affects my opinion.

My second choice is tour chrome.  Those look very nice too.

The black nickel is then a very, very distant 3rd place, in my opinion.  I don't see any pros use this color, or anyone at the courses I play.

You could always do the ultimate ho job, and buy one of each color.

The Brushed Chrome on the TVD wedges is stunning!  Much better than the tour chrome on the std. SM4..... I have both.

Yup I have a 52 in Black Nickel, 56 in Tour Chrome and 60 in oil can. My favorite is actually the Black Nickel (possibly because I'm deadly with my Gap wedge and terrible with the other two lol).

It's probably all in my head, but the Oil Can finish just feels softer to me. I love it!

That's not ho'in enough....
I'm talking a 52 in all three, 56 in all three and 60 in all three.
Tour Chrome for cloudy days (too shiny when sunny)
Oil Can on cloudy and wet days (a little extra spin from the rust)
Black Nickel in firm conditions, just because...

I have a 52* in tour chrome and a 58* in oil can. Like them both, plus it makes it easier to grab the right wedge from the bag.

I like the oil can finish because its easy to take off and give the wedge a raw finish.

Heads up: Carl's Golf Land has SM4's on sale for $110 plus free shipping and no tax. Hard to find these things on sale bc I think Titleist doesn't allow it.

I'm sort of torn between Oil Can and Tour Chrome. I hit a ton of practice shots with wedges and I am all about making them last as long as I can. Tour Chrome shows wear a lot faster for me, but seem to keep spinning a lot longer than oil can, which don't have the plating. Oil Can are more pleasing aesthetically though after a lot of practice balls. I just don't really like the way that Black Nickel look after the top coat wears off.

The TVD brushed chrome is so much better looking than the standard tour chrome.  I also find the tour chrome to wear out very quickly compared to other chrome wedges I have used such as Nike and Callaway which were much more durable.  The black nickle looks ok but I still prefer the oil can, I remove the finish as soon as I get them and just play them raw.  I also feel that they are softer because they don't have the plating that the other finishes have.  This is especially true of the vokey's for me because they aren't forged.

Tour Chrome.

No glare and I've not found the finish to wear out so fast like oil cans and black nickel will.    At least that's my experience.

I really like the black nickel look, especially when it gets a little wear on it. I can't stand the full rust that comes with the oil can, though.

Oil can.

I strip off the finish in a bucket of vinegar and get them rusting right away.

I play 52 / 56 / 60

I have always like Oil Can because each wedge ends up with it's own unique look. I probably would not like it on all irons but do on my wedges.
