I mean well....I love this game as much or more than all of you but there are some rules that leave me scratching my head.

Yeah I think the rule also works against the flagstick lying on the ground. If the stick is behind the hole and your opponent putts and you go to pick up the stick so the ball won't hit it I think you get a penalty as well. Trying to think of reason that the act would work against the person playing the shot, but can't seem to do so.

It's a stange rule, but it's even stanger that a player on the PGA Tour doesn't know about it.

Where was Johnson's (sp?) CADDIE during this?! Seems like HE should have been more on-the-ball here. Either way, it's a goofy rule, and one of many goofy ones...
