Not wanting to get into the never ending debate about the penalty.

Just wondering how many holes have OB bordering them.

After counting mine up it has 11.

Didnt know if that was normal, low or high.

The more difficult a course becomes, the more likely OB comes into some level of play.  One course I frequent, OB comes into play on 6 of the first nine holes, and 7 of the back 9; another course has OB in play on all of the front 9 holes, and 7 of the back 9.

Only 4 at my course, but any stray shots are usually in the hazard over a mountain.

You can talk to a fade, but a hook won't listen

Playing down here in Myrtle Beach, OB is everywhereeeeeeeeeeee. God I just want to rip out the damn white stakes and chuck them into the trees!  The way they use OB down here is ridiculous...

All 7 are on the back and I thought that was a lot before reading the posts above.
Our front 9 is inside of the back 9.  Once on the back, DON'T pull or hook it LEFT!

17 of 18 holes have OB on my course. However there is ample driving room on most holes, and if you go OB you have hit a pretty horrendous shot. ;)

My home club is a 36 hole facility. On the North Course, the shorter of the two, OB is in play on 17/18 holes. The only hole you can't hit it OB on is #9 which is a par 3 right next to the club house. On the South Course, OB is in play 17/18, the only hole it isn't in play is #15 which is a par 3 with probably 60 yards to right of the green is OB. So it's there, but it's difficult to hit it there.

8 holes have ob, but 2 of them you would really have to hit a horrendous shot to hit, while 2 of them are super easy to go ob on... The one the ob actually looks as if it enters the target line on the left... Hardest driving hole on my course cause if you go right you're in some junk and its going to take AT LEAST 1 shot just to get back into play, no possibility of going for the green....

We have 8 holes that OB can come into play.  Doesn't take a horrible shot on any of the eight to be in trouble.

11, technically 12 but you would have to hook it across a pond and through some woods on a par 3 to get that 12th one, never seen it done

16 of them. 4 have OB on both sides and 12 of them are not that hard to go OB. A bad bounce can put you very near the fences

Our course has OB on all 18 holes and all 18 are left.  There are about 3 holes that it doesn't come into play that much, a couple are par 3's that you have to hook it pretty far offline.  But I have seen it done before.  The bad part about our OB and course is that you really need to play the ball right to left on most holes and the OB is also left.  Pretty much everyone that grows up playing our course hits the ball right to left out of necessity, but I am wanting to create a swing that doesn't ever miss left.

OB on 5 holes, all of them around the perimeter of the course, although OB is really only in play on 3 of them.  Another 3 holes where you will probably not find your ball if you hit if off line but not OB or hazard.   Then another 7 with water hazards in play.   I think the prevalence of OB has a lot to do with newer courses having homes built along them, and sometimes the developer may have gotten a bit greedy with the amount of property allocated to the course versus the homesites.   My club was built in 1959 and while we have plenty of woods and creeks, there are no homes or roads within the interior of the course, which is really nice.  Great walking course!

6 on mine but on two of the holes you would have to be 80 yards left of the center of the fairway so not really a factor.
