Can anybody tell me what shaft Hunter is playing in his driver this week at the match play? Caught a glimpse of the graphics and looked like a Phenom, but the shaft is red instead of gray/black. Any ideas? Thanks.

RIP Phenom NL. Some say its stands for nasty long. It's low/low and very tip stiff. Mostly tour only - but have seen some on eBay

Thats a combination of a high launching head with a low spinning low launch shaft....Best of both worlds.

It's a pretty low spinning head relative to its launch.  Lofts equal its 1.2 degrees higher launching than G20 but 100 rpm lower spinning.  I believe it's 60-X Phenom NL at 45.25... I've hit the shaft it's very very similar to the rest of the ones he played most recently... 6M3 Black and Tour Spec 6.2..

I'd like to try the 60 X, NOT Tour X. Can't handle the tip-stiffness of a tour X. Love the upper 60s/near 70g weight for a driver.

I have a RIP PhenomNL in my 910 D2. Bought it from Will Peeples. It is one of the smoothest, lowest spinning shafts i have ever seen. Driver is a rocket.

Phenom NL = Phenomenal

HaHa..... That's so not very clever.  However It's the shaft I'd most like to test drive right now.

Any real life comparisons against the RIP Alpha? Just as stable?

More stable, less boardy, a little more feedback.

I have a Phenom NL 70X for sale in LH BST for a reasonable price if you'd like to try it.

It's a GT.  I played 18 with a G25 with GT-6X in Phoenix this week.  Awesome feeling shaft.

That's actually what they were going for with the "NL" after Phenom... Phenom-A-NL

I just put the 70 Tour X in my 913 and absolutely love it. Actually went up a little bit on the loft I normally play because the shaft really cut down on the spin from the stock shaft. Loving it so far.

You talking the driver or 3 wood?     And with GD, don't they all feel awesome lol.  Love the BB in the Xtreme head, might try the 7.2 Tour spec speeder not sure how much of a difference it would be.

Hunter has it in the 3 wood... I played it in the driver.

Thanks, I'll have to pull the trigger then.  Heard it was softer in the butt section. That was my only concern.  I'd already planned to try one in a G25 so it really caught my attention when I saw Mahan playing that same set up. Maybe I'll throw an orange NDMC on it. HaHa

The Tour X are not stiffer than the std X they just have lower torque.
