PUTTING IS RUINING MY LIFE! I am certain I would shoot low 70's consistently if I could sort out my putting and no matter what I do I can never seem to work out why I am so bad. I recently shot an 83 with 42 putts which is just depressing really. I find if i will either screw up the lag putt and leave myself too much work to make par or get it close and then screw up the short putt which equals lots of 3 putts. Even had a 4 putt yesterday when I was within 10ft of the hole.... terrible. Other than that I am pretty happy with my game... I realise I am not a professional so expect to make mistakes each round, I just enjoy the challenge of still carding decent rounds when I know I left shots out there, definitely makes me come back for more!

Distance, proximity to hole from 150+ out, clutchness under pressure, and match play.

And recently wedge distances.

fat shots. Probably costs me 20+ strokes a round. I usually shoot around 100.\

AFAIK its pretty much caused 100% of the time by my head moving towards the target somewhere during the swing and the swing becoming steeper.

i don't make enough 15 foot putts. I shoot a lot of 75's where i have like 4 bogeys or something. It's pretty frustrating. I'm working on putting the past couple of years and i've gotten better, especially from 5-10 feet. But i barely make any midrange putts. I'd guess my birdies per round is extremely low for guys in the 0-2 range

same with me. I have a very good short iron and wedge game but I struggle to make 15 footers. I rarely 3 putt from any length though.

Worth noting that PGA average is only about 20% from 15 feet (which means there are many that make a lower %), so I find it a little odd that two people find that to be their biggest flaw!

My flaw is not getting it inside 6 feet often enough on easy short shots.  I played 9 on Saturday and it was a good example: shot 39 going just 1 for 5 on "easy" up/downs within 5 yards of the green.  Easy enough up/downs that someone with a good short game could expect to knock all of them within 5 feet.  The other 4 holes I hit GIR and took par.  I was striking the ball pretty well for me, so on this day it was the difference between shooting par (35) and 39.  Most days it's the difference between shooting 39 and 43. Will definitely be my focus this season.

Driving.

Played 18 yesterday. Hit ONE good drive. Literally, 1.

Played the par 3's in even par. Got up and down 4 or 5 times for par. Drained 2 putts over 10 feet. Made everything inside of 5 feet.

Hit a couple of irons close but just put myself in irreconcilable positions off the tee. If it was a serious round, the driver would have been in the bag from hole 2 on, but I'm trying to work it out.

I hit my 4W off the deck better than I hit my driver off the tee. It's getting ridiculous. I've made progress on the range, but it's an ongoing struggle.

My mental game is my #1 flaw. I'm a pretty good ballstriker on the range/short game/etc.. but I'm a completely different person on the course. One of my playing partners actually finds it quite humourous the amount of dropoff I have. I remember recently we were at a demo day and I had a wedge in my hand putting it 10 feet or so ball after ball. Then I realized he was watching me and I proceeded to chunk the next 4-5 in a row.

I really appreciate your comment.  I'm not a pressure player at all.  Left to my own devices, I'm fine.  However, give me a crowd and I choke like a flooded engine.  I start to think about the crowd instead of the shot and usually butcher it.

People with 5 minute Prescott routines making tournament rounds over 5 hours and up to 6.

My inability to deal with that.
