After watching the first day of Match Play, I just got curious.  What is the worst weather you have played in?

I played a tnmt last weekend..... it was 33 out with a steady 9mph wind before any gusts and on the 12th hole it started snowing on us.  Greens were like concrete and you couldnt compress the ball no matter what and your body was so numb that it was like getting out of bed in the morning and immediately hitting a golf shot...every shot.    Not one person said it was fun....the guy with the low round said the only way he stayed warm was that he downed a bottle of peach schnapps during the round.

snow twice.  not worth it.  you can kind of find the ball but you can't putt.  the ball collects snow .   40 mph wind is not fun either you have to adjust too much for it. 15-20 mph is fine but over 35 mph is worthless.

Illinois state finals in...I think 2002. It poured, and poured, but no lightning so they wouldn't cancel it. They finally called it after about 2 hours of non stop brutal pouring - my dad said I looked like a drowned rat.

Played on monday at Ridgemark( Hollister, CA). It was 45 degrees, with 8mph wind constant. Not too bad...at least for the first 18 holes. We started the second course and WHAM, torrential down pour, and the temp continued to drop till it was about 38 and it began to hail on us. Fairways had puddles on them as well as the greens, and at this point every hole was filled to the brim with water. We love the game enough so we continued playing, but it got to the point where we couldn't feel our hands and every shot felt like I was hitting a rock with a 1 iron.

Still shot 82 so all is well that ends well :)

Played in heavy rain until the greens held too much water.

Played in during snow.

Played when it was in the thirties and very windy.

But the worst to me was about 100 degrees of hazy, hot and humid.

Played Lahinch in Ireland 2 years ago in March. It was freezing, raining sideways and my caddy called me a moron. I shot a friggin 112, lost 4 balls and got completely shitfaced after the round just to kill the pain. The next day was 55 and gorgeous out. Shoot me.

Back when I played college golf we used to play in some garbage spring weather- one tournament in iowa it started off with a light drizzle, then there were snow flurries, then back to drizzle, then hail, and ended with flurries. Thank god it wasn't windy that day or I might have quit!

Ive played in snow a bunch when i was younger. But i wouldnt anymore.

Ill play in light rain now though. Its not a super big deal here in the south as long as it is just light rain.

Played Kiawah Island Ocean course in 38degree weather with 20mph wind and slight rain.

I had to hit 4i on 135yards par3.

Go figure.

Not a round but I was at the range yesterday. 27 degrees out! The sun had made it feel kinda nice during the short walk from my office to my car but not a good idea...

Myrtle Beach about 10 years ago.

Got caught at the southern end of a blizzard that was hitting the Northeast.

It was about 50*...but the winds were a steady 30 mph with gusts to 45.

It was an interesting challenge.  Would have been more enjoyable if the weather had been a bit warmer.

We had a group of 16 go to Myrtle Beach every year.  One year I think 2001 or so, it was early December.  We had booked and paid for all the rounds  36,36,18,36 and 27.  it had been on the cooler side all week, but nothing too bad especially considering we all came from the DC area.  But the last day our 8:00 am tee off temp was 34 degrees with winds that made the windchill 18 degrees.  Guys were wearing full overcoats and snow gloves. it was miserable.

But we all finished 18, only two guys went to play the last 9 holes, the rest of us headed for the showers and then the sportsbar to watch football.  I've never been so cold playing golf as I was that morning.

Went out on a cool overcast day by the turn it looked darker and was starting to blow, but had a good round going so....
On the eleventh a cold rain started but I was still warm. On par 5 twelve I hit a good drive that flew  the ravine that usually is my landing area so I was pumped as this is generally the stretch of holes where things go south. Then hail started by the time I got to the green it was covered in pea size hail but I parred (I was amazed how little the hail effected putting) and said there is no way I'm quitting now, by 15 it quit hailing but now I was so cold I was getting tight and started to struggle and bogeyed out to miss my best score by two strokes. :angry22:

Uhhh, like 45 with a slight breeze.  Maybe once in my league it was 40ish with a light mist, but we decided to push it off and replay the match later in the year.

I'll run a marathon in 100+ heat, golf in 110, the cold and rain forget it.  I golf for the enjoyment not to punish myself, I do enough of that every single day anyway....

New year's eve round in Utah, many years ago.  Temps were low 30s or lower.  I didn't care about score, just played to say I did.  Now I've accomplished the last goal.

35 degrees sleeting sideways from 40 mph winds at States in 2005. Just warm enough that the sleet didn't stick on the grass. Guys were hitting driver on a 190 yard par 3 into the wind

That's exactly what I tell people when they give me a hard time for not playing when it's raining or sub 40.  I play golf to enjoy it, not survive it.

The aforementioned trip to Myrtle was different since it was all prepaid. But even given that we skipped out on the last 9 holes.

Heavy rain, below freezing temperatures and 40mph winds... the usual Saturday when playing UK links golf in winter!

120 degree heat in Palm Springs.  We had the course to ourselves, but that's probably because no one else was interested in getting heat stroke.

I've never been in that type of heat, let alone play golf in it.  Never again.  Although the delirium made it a little more fun.

This is easy... It was a scramble with the Teardrop/Ram/Tommy Armour gang at the '97 PGA show in Vegas... 108 degrees... it was ridiculous... mind-bending

Snow, something like 29 degrees out in Laramie Wyoming. Had to get that round in because it wouldn't be able to play again until I went home for the summer. Wyoming has 2 seasons Winter and the 4th of July

34 degrees with 27 mph wind last week, only one on the course.  Heading to Kiawah for a straight Ocean Course trip in May, trying to play as much wind as I can.  I have learned over the last few months that anything over a 12 club wind is futile.

Played during a Typhoon in Manila back in 2007.  Not a good idea.  Not a good idea at all.  I was sick for a week.  There wasn't one part of me or my equipment that was dry.

23F!! That made playing in 40MPH wind seemed like a breeze. LOL It was a lot of fun. Had to hammer the tee into ground. Divot was white filled with frost. Bunkers were literally frozen solid. Balls bounced 20 ft high landing on the green. Walking on the green soundeda and felt like walking on concrete with metal spikes.

These are what we looked like that day...

I played a national tournament that got stopped after 10 holes as the course become unplayable with standing water on the putting surfaces. About to leave for the course now it is below freezing with a 'feels like' 24f

Sea side course with a 15mph NNE
