What's up WRXer's! Rather than revive an old thread...http://www.golfwrx.c...-ny-area-wrxers I figured I'd post up here and ask.

I am looking into joining a league this summer and not sure if anyone has experience on here with the local ones. I know Orchard Creek is currently having sign ups and a few others, but don't want to join something super competitive and dilute it for the others! I am a mid 90s player and want to join an equivalent league.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Hello, I live in the Capital Region as well. Unfortunately I don't know of any leagues, but if I find some info on one I will let you know. I usually play at Capital Hills but I don't think there is a league there (didn't see anything in the proshop or on their website).

Have you tried the golf dome at Afrims? It is off Rt 7 by the NYSUT and Trooper building. It is maybe 100 yards, but enough to watch your ball flight and get some swings in!

Thanks I've heard of the golf dome but haven't checked it out. There is a driving range across the river called Route Fore that I've been using so far this winter; it is outdoors but has heaters. But I miss the grass driving range at CapHills, it's so much better than hitting off mats.

What course do you normally play?

Ya I used to live at Rt Fore when I was at HVCC!

I play all over; Orchard Creek, Saratoga Spa, Saratoga Lake, Schenectady Muni, Stadium, Van Patten, Cap Hills, but primarily the Colonie town course. I take it Cap Hills for you?

Yeah CapHills, it's only about a 5 min drive from my school. But I've also played Saratoga Lake and Stadium. I also drove down and played Blackhead Mtn a couple times. I've been playing a lot at the NYC muni courses over the past 3 months because everything is closed around here.

I could be wrong, but Mohawk River may be open as well up here. They were last year, not sure on this year though. Also a fan of Northway 8, found their heaters to be more consistent lol!
