  • Shaft Name -  The Cardinal (Series of course) - I mean think about it, it's a high flying bird that cuts through the wind, very important title to the Catholic community, and it's just got a nice ring to it like your favorite band.   -  You can have three versions for ball flight purists
  • Graphic Idea - I'd say white is extremely popular right now so I would do a solid white with a semi gloss and some design around the butt to midsection but keep it plain by the club face.  I would think solid white with a metallic red zebra pattern or something up by the grip.  I don't know, I think it would like sharp!!
  • Colors - White and Metallic red for your high launch low spin club.  Different variations for the mid and low launch club.  I would think maybe just change the tone of the red from light faded for low launch, mild sharpness red for mid, and of course the electric metallic red for the high launch.  It's just my opinion but simple is usually better on driver shafts.
  • Type of Finish (Flat, Glossy, etc.) I like a mild gloss - not to shinny, but I don't care for flat.

What about a clear coating that shows the fibers that make the shaft. that would give a 3 dimension with the ability to layer colors and lettering on top of each other.

Shaft name: Mimic
Color: Chrome
Finish: Gloss
Paint:   Shaft would be painted to mimic the look of a stepped steel shaft so when installed in irons or woods would give the look of a steel shaft.  Brings back the look you get with steel, but with the performance benefits of graphite.   Also works well for those golfers who have lost distance and don't want anyone looking on to know they have now moved to graphite in their irons.

#1
  • Shaft Name: Old Hickory, Hickory Stick, HS-65s (weight/flex)
  • Graphic Idea: Wood grain type look with a slightly different finish on each shaft if you can
  • Colors: Match with the wood type, maybe fade to black at the tip or butt or both.
  • Type of Finish: Clear coat over the wood, like a lacquer
#2
  • Shaft Name: Recoil Impulse, Recoil Velocity, Recoil Energy (The quantifiable data when measuring recoil)
  • Graphic Idea: Keep it pretty close to the graphics of the iron shaft. Recoil Impulse is a time measurement so incorporate time in some way like roman numerals I-XII going around the shaft. Recoil Velocity is a measure of speed so make the shaft look fast like jumping to hyperspace in Star Wars. Recoil Energy is a measurement of force and is a little harder to realize in an image so maybe just an energetic design of laser beams that look powerful and substantial.
  • Colors: Recoil Impulse - Antique Brown with the crackled look of an old clock dial. Recoil Velocity - Black with white flecks (stars going through hyperspace) or you could do a deep purple like going through a wormhole. Recoil Energy - A vibrant green laser beam symphony superimposed over a black field.
  • Type of Finish: Glossy, I think most shafts look better as a glossy finish.

Last one since will likely be shut down soon.

The UST MAJORS SERIES: Shafts commemorating the four tournaments of the grand slam. While the Masters shaft could incorporate graphics specific to Augusta National, the other three could use graphics that embody the spirit of the individual tournaments. For example, the Open Champ shaft could use imagery akin to the tall grasses and gorse that are prevalent in the tournament sites, all leaning as they blow in an unseen wind. The US open could use ocean or city backgrounds since often the sites of tournaments have fairly large populated areas nearby. The Tour Champ shaft could find a way to commemorate past winners through the use of initials or names etched in the shaft.

Otherwise, the majors could be used as a yearly shaft offering as the ProForce V2 or VTS models with "limited edition" paint schemes.  Each shaft could have a graphic specific to the site of that year's major.

Concept: UST Zodiac series (cancer, Gemini, Taurus, etc etc)

Colors: various, would depend on the shaft. Just for example, cancer could be red, Gemini could be black, etc.

Design: matte finish, somehow incorporate the constellations of the zodiac signs along the length of the shaft.

The UST Energizer
Keeps Going and going (Like this thread)
Graphics could, again, be lightning or look like a battery. Possibly solid color thick band with a "+" and then silver ion lower with the "Energizer" name in some kind of bold elctro-font. With a "-" at the botton.

-------------------------------------------------

I deleted the last 2 posts that were comment about when this thread will close. I did this so it would not show up in the top of page 1. Contest is closed!!! Ran well over the 2 week amount.

We will get back with news soon.
