Hahaha trouser length?  I can picture some of yall walking around the range actually caring how long other guys pants are (that doesn't sound rediculous)  "Pshh he isn't good enough to play those blades, and WOW his trousers are totally 1/2 inch to long, what a hack!" Haha yall are funny.

even at the masters !

Rory needs to stop wearing the modern fit tech pants...they're just too slim at the bottom (and may be a bit long in the case of this picture).  You'll never see TW wear "slim" pants - there's nothing dominant about a man wearing nut huggers.  Not to mention it makes your feet look like boat paddles.

3 things seem to be in play here in this agonizing thread.

1. Preference
2. Functionality
3. Style

It does seem to be a personal thing as far as trouser length, but it also seems some guys don't pay much attention to it. How 'bout we just agree that when something looks right, you know it right away.

Love this thread more for the pics at the various tour stops.

I have to wear business suits everyday for work and I can tell you that a properly tailored suit can make a $500 suit look like a $1500 suit.  I pay attention to how people wear their suits because you have to look the part....it's your paycheck and your meal ticket a poorly fitted suit makes one look inexperienced...now when I am on the golf course, I couldn't care less.  I do not expect other amateur golfers to get their pants tailored to play weekend golf.....because I don't.

I think older guys can pull off pleats or flat fronts. younger guys should stick to flat fronts

Personally, I think that pants (slacks, anyway) should be at a length that touches the top of the sole of the shoe, at the heel.  Then you have them hemmed correctly so they break nicely over the shoes you are wearing them with.  For golf shoes, which are usually a bit taller and thicker than dress shoes, this usually calls for a notch or a "V" to be hemmed into the bottom of the seam.

Noh's pants look perfect.

Goosen's pants are the proper length... they just aren't hemmed to break over the shoe properly.

GMAC's pants are always perfect (no surprise there).

The one you say is "downright sloppy" are actually really good.  If you look closely, you will see that the seam is twisted from the side of the leg over towards the front, so the notch isn't in the correct place.  They are golfers... they are active and moving around a lot, so this can happen.  If he takes a couple steps, this will self correct and the notch will go back to the proper place for a nice fit.

The last photo is hard to tell.  Pants are tailored when you are standing up straight... not in an athletic position.  Since he is mid golf shot, his knees will be slightly bent.  Though the pants look too long, they may be the proper length once he stands up straight.

Perfect explanation!!

+2
the slit is just too long by 1 to 1/2" on Goosen's
