Put a White Hot Pro #7 in the bag on Wednesday and proceeded to shoot my best round of the year, largely in part because I felt like I knew what I was doing with the flatstick for once. Had a chance to break par, but miffed a wedge on an approach on 18 to shoot even.
Missed some GIR's which makes the putting stats look better, but 27 putts for that round. It's been a long time since I've been sub 30 for putts.
Distance control was really good. Honeymoon heaven for me right now.

Just got my #7 BWB. I was originally for the WBW but the problem I had was on sunny days I preferred the contrast of the BWB against a white ball as it just felt more natural. Words can't describe how much of a difference this putter feels and this is before I play on Friday.
Got custom fitted for the first time ever after reading forum posts over and over again. And let me tell you I was SHOCKED at the results.
I had a Ping Anser 2F that I used in high school and a year after. Only got the putter because I saw all of the pros using that styled putter. Oh to be young and dumb! A couple of minutes into the process and it's obvious what I was feeling all of these years ... basically the toe was in the air and the loft was all wrong. Huh.
I tried the Ping Anser Scottsdale TR (pro's selection) and the Versa (mine) which I said felt more natural when I demo'd it the week before at a different course. Sorry fellas but I quickly denied any attempt for a Scotty Cameron as I hate how that thing looks, feels, etc. After about 45 minutes of fitting, adjusting loft and lie angels I was told thanks to technology that I had a very small out to in putting path, I tend to skip the ball because of the loft issue I was having with my now old putter, and the problem with my speed was because I had a slow tempo swing on the forward path which was making my putts die into the hole/leave it short rather than the 6'' past type speed. And despite all of this I was placing at a very high percentile which felt awesome to a 30 year old who just got back after 9ish years.
Basically, for the first time in my life, I knew exactly what I needed to correct and how to go about it because of the custom fitting process. Everyone needs to get custom fitted, and I don't mean at your local brick & mortar "store" but at a golf course you trust via professionals with a legit machine/process.
So anyone have any drills for speed/distance issues?
