I was amazed at how many pros are using the Odyssey #7 (predominantly the Versa) in the first round at Riviera today:

Luke Donald
Freddy Jac
Michael Block
Ernie
Dustin Johnson(!)
Not sure on Furyk?

Anyone see anyone else?

Not sure if DJ was actually using a Odyssey. More likely he's using a Yes! putter.

He most definitely does. Probably hard for TM fanboys to believe.

This assumes everyone knows what a #7 even looks like.

Stricker also experimented with that head. Ian Poulter still plays his Odyssey #7.

AKA "The Fang"...I'm sure you've seen this putter before, it's been popular for many years.

I was thinking this same thing last night as I was watching the coverage.  I was shocked when I saw that DJ was using one!  I will admit that I like the versa a lot as I picked up a #1 wide, but I did not think that DJ would ever change from SC

Dustin Johnson may have been using a #7 yesterday, but he wasn't using it very well.

I wish I kept my orginal #7, the other versions did not feel the same to me.  May try the Versa.

He most definitely does. Probably hard for TM fanboys to believe.
Not a TM fanboy here, I was only assuming sice the putter I saw was all white with no black an because he has a TM contract. I was just putting two and two together. Apparently I was wrong.

Sorry I didn't mean that to be directed at you, just in general.

Interesting the attention these putters are getting.

Interesting to see this. It is sort of a funny looking head, but it must be the really square lines that make it appealing. Hard to find one of the original White Hot XG #7s anymore...

Do you think pros copycat?  They see poulter and Donald putting well with that putter and start to believe maybe it will help them.   Or maybe odyssey decided to toss some money around.

The masters is where you will see their true choice.  Those guys will experiment this week, but not at Augusta.

We didn't throw any money around for these and the tour players are definitely influenced by each other.  Some more than others of course, but once you play a couple rounds with Luke Donald, you'd want to use his putter too.

Hey Chris, I just played 9 yesterday with my versa bwb #7 and the putter just gets better.  The thing I love most about this version of the #7 (aside from the versa alignment system) is the size of it.  MUCH smaller then other versions which kept me from using the 7 before.

Saw the Versa #7 WBW yesterday and tested it out... holy crap was I impressed. first putter that actually made me reconsider buying a Scotty. I thought I was done with putters with face inserts and go to a fully milled face but man.. changed my mind. In all honesty i may still get the scotty and get this for the hell of it. Its definitely worth taking a look at!

i really liked the three dot alignment aid on the top too

I love the WBW #7. Looking more and more like it's the gamer for the year for this "pro."

PS. I'm not really a pro.
