Wow.  Didn't Lahinch charge a full price cancellation fee for short notice?

2) Arcadia Bluffs
3) The Monument Course at Troon North
4) TPC Sawgrass
5) Links and Quarry at Bay Harbor

Forest Dunes is right there as well.

I've been rethinking my list, and I think the following would do it for me as Top 5:

Muirfield Village
Casa de Campo Teeth of the Dog
Mission Hills Dinah Shore
The Quarry at La Quinta
Ohio State Scarlet

There's a lot of subjective alumni pride in that last one, but I love the place.

Others that don't make the list but may be "objectively" better than several of my favorites include Scioto, Inverness, Brookside, Oakmont, Pinehurst #2, and Princeville Prince.

A few more that just hold great spots in my memory for various reasons are the Golden Horseshoe Gold course in Williamsburg, Southward Ho on Long Island, and the golf course at Schlosshotel Kronberg outside Frankfurt.  Love the Forest Creek club in Pinehurst, too.

I haven't had the opportunity to play some of the 'big names' but my favorite course I get to play is the Links course at Lawsonia. If anyone comes to Wisconsin to play Erin Hills, Sand Valley, or the Kohler courses, consider making the trip over to Lawsonia. It is such a blast to play.

I have had the chance to play some amazing courses, and generally the company and my connection is the driver to whether itís top 5.

1. Old Course. As a history buff, that connection for me made it an amazing experience.
2. Monterey Peninsula Dunes.
3. Rock Creek Cattle Co. when there is a herd of elk holding up play as they cross the landing area you know itís a fun place.
4. Oakmont CC.
5. Prestwick. See ďOld CourseĒ and itís just so funky. Of course I jacked one OB off the first tee and my caddie was hungover and a self professed hooligan who just tried to not throw up, but what a day.
5A. Royal Troon. I birdied the postage stamp and will never forget it.

I have yet to play Pebble, but am excited to do so soon. Itís my last bucket list course, though reading otherís lists I suspect I will come up with more bucket list courses to play.

3. Reflection Bay Golf Club - Lake Las Vegas, NV

In my experience Oakmont is one of the easier top clubs to get on at (maybe I think that because Iíve played it). Iím always surprised as to how many friends I have that have played Pine Valley and Cypress Point as well.  It gives me hope that one day....

Scioto CC (Columbus, OH)
The Virtues (Longaberger; about an hour outside Columbus)
Troon North Pinnacle course
Grayhawk Talon course
Reflection Bay (Lake Las Vegas) or one of the We-Ko-Pa courses
