Apparently no one here has seen the old James Bond movie Goldfinger, as that scenario comes right out of the movie.

You mean...*gasp* not every joke told by comedians is 100% original? The horror.

The delivery was great.

There is no "dilemma" in this joke.  One would not have to concern one's self with whether to acknowledge the fact that you dishonestly picked up your opponent's ball.

The comedian, at about :30 in, tells us that the two players searched for the ball "for about 10 minutes."  Done deal, back to the tee, dude.  Doesn't matter that you pretended to find it.

If this was a comedy forum, I'd give this joke high marks. :cheesy:

In a rules forum though, it's a whiff.  :black eye:

that's why you stamp your opponents ball into the ground instead of picking it up. poor form.

Good one.

Actually saw it happen one time. Playing partner found opponents ball. About the time he ready to say here it is we hear "found it". Picked it up and saved for the discussion after the round over drinks.
In front of everyone.

I have a friend with notoriously bad eyesight. One time he hit a ball over the green on the 18th, and I was there first looking for it.

Match was over at this point, so, I just dropped a ball and told him I found his ball. When he finally putted out, I made sure to grab his ball from the cup and I was like, "you playing a Pro V?" and he goes, "no, a Callaway". So, I go, "well, what the hell is this, then?" and accused him of cheating.

One of us had a good laugh over it.

The answer to the video is to throw it back in the grass and "find it again".

Had a situation happen to me with the club president one evening. I found his ball as I hear "got it," follwed by him hitting it back to the fairway. I knew it was his ball I found because he had his full name printed on the side!!!
