I know there is the stock retail offering, the version 2 which is a totally different smaller head only available on tour for some reason, and now I see on Ebay from the tour van that he has a R1 V2 Dot head that is lower launching than the V2. Did TaylorMade ever answer on why there are so many different versions of this driver and why no one on tour I have seen is using the retail offering? I know some of us prefer smaller than 460cc drivers.

Does the USGA conforming list have a 3rd, DOT head listed?

I'm actively shopping for an R11S V2 head right now...

Just two listed on the USGA site right now. The retail and the V2 which is what everyone on the tour is using at the moment.

Not to being a pot stirrer but, what was the last release that there wasn't a difference between the retail head and what was being played on tour?  A few years ago, prior to adjustability maybe, I'm not sure if it was the Burner Superfast or not, but there was a shortage of "tour" heads and staffers were buying retail heads in Florida around the Honda or Bay Hill and having them re-shafted in the trailers.  Is there really a performance difference?  I think the difference are CG placement and volume size (CC's) only.  If it's been COR tested, aren't they the same other than the previous factors I mentioned?

Why does it have to come from WRX management?

What you mean here we go again? Does an explanation take this long, ya boy CP said it was coming and he couldn't release all of his "inside info". I am just wondering what the answer is, especially since the tour van is selling a V2 Dot on Ebay which he says in his description it is lower spin than the R1 V2, that's all.

There was no question from me.  Xerpro posted the link for WillPeoples who is a trusted source for the "tour issued" head you desire.  Not sure what 3rd version you are referring too.  The TM folks even said that there are 2 versions only.

It's obvious that you didn't read the ad Dave posted or you would have seen this...

This auction is for a NEW TOUR ISSUE Taylormade R1 8* DOT TXXXXX Head.  This is prototype R1 Dot Head.  This is extremely rare.  This is the first one I have seen.  These are lower launching than the R1 V2 which is a smaller 420cc head.

Interesting and a must have for my 2013 driver head collection.  I guess the brass at TM was trying to keep this from everyone because a week ago they said there were only two versions.  My bad.
