I agree, customer service isn't what it used to be. I would call the owner or manager and let them know why they lost my business.
In all honesty the manager won't care if they lost one person. I know that sounds terrible, but I work at a big box store where there have been some cases where a customer has said " I won't shop here ever again". Usually the manager will say something nice, but behind closed doors they don't care. They still get paid either way and the company is still going to make money with or without that 1 customer.

CEO of spirit airlines doesn't care about customers, as soon as he saves them a penny they'll come running back.
For some reason this thread reminded me of this !!
So true.  The same people on here who constantly complain about Goldsmith/Golf Galaxy's/Dick's customer service will be the first people to post a link to a coupon or some ridiculous deal that they are offering.
The comment "as soon as we save them a penny they'll come running back"  was made by the CEO
After experiencing the service with spirit and seeing this email, I only fly Delta or anything else besides spirit.
Spirit Airlines is pretty much a bare bones operation.  You get what you pay for as far as they go, so noone should be suprised by their service/attitude.  You don't fly with them for the service, you fly with them because of price.  And do you disagree that as soon GS or Golf Galaxy has some coupon or deal, people on here will be trampling all over each to try and "get theirs"?

I really appreciate that someone from Golfsmith responded, that's pretty nice.  However, you could replace Golfsmith with any golf retail store and the story would be the same.  I don't think the intention is to pick on Golfsmith stores.  In general, there's at least one knuckle head at every retail golf shop. Of course, I could also say that about most workplaces.

Ho hum, another big box store hate and rant thread.
Go to the store, walk into the hitting area unnannounced, as if it was your very own rec room. Fire up equipment that doesn't belong to you, adjust it to your liking and then wonder why the associate is upset? I'll bet if it was your rec room and he touched and adjusted your electronics without a by your leave,  that the fur would fly. With the attitudes I see on so many "golf" customers....lets see....they know more than the associates about everything from clubs to monitors, which never work correctly. They seem to think they own the equipment, they take the equipment for granted, they don't ask for or accept offered   assistance or bother to find out if it is okay to use the clubs or the monitor. They treat the associates with derision, and then, after they've had their fill playing with the clubs, they drop 'em where they stand and then they go home, go online and make their purchases on EBAY or the BST for as cheap a price as possible ( and wonder why there are so many fakes out there in cyberland). And then, they come on here and flame big box golf associates,  because why? Because it just seems to be good fun. You guys don't like the people who work at big box golf stores? I have news for you. They know it, they feel it and because you rarely buy anything at the retail level, they don't feel very obliged to treat you to the self entitlement you feel is yours to claim ownership of.

it looks like you made up half the story here, he never said he went into the bay unannounced and adjusted the clubs to his liking?
Really?  If he was in there with the knowledge of the associates, then one would think that the associate wouldn't suddenly run over to ask what the OP was doing. Since the associate DID run over and ask "what are you doing?", it can ONLY be because the OP went into the bay, grabbed a club, adjusted the store computer and started hitting. Without announcing himself or his intentions to the staff.
I made up nothing. I stated what I read and fwiw, this happens often and it's always the same people and type who do it.

At the GS by me, there is a sign that very clearly says that you aren't supposed to touch it...this removes any and all doubt.  It's an expensive piece of machinery...and while I understand it is just an application...and understand how windows work...etc etc, it is reasonable for GS to not want every customer feeling free to change settings, move the monitor, or touch the interface....

That said, the associate you were working with obviously handled it poorly.

I have long ago given up on expecting expertise in a big box store of any type.  Only recently have I started to give up expecting good customer service at some of them.    The guys at my Golfsmith (Highland Park, IL) are great...happy to come back to the LM, watch you, help a bit, and provide input/feedback.  But I understand why it is tough for GS to find associates who are knoweledgable enough to satisfy most WRX members...

It actually CAN'T ONLY BE.  There was an associate in the bay next to me assisting another customer with a fitting.  He knew I was in there and had actually set the GC2 for me b/c he let me know that the mats had been moved and the tees were outside the sensor.  I was originally going to just step out without hitting anything (there are only 2 bays) and I didn't want to move stuff around.  Which I didn't.  I just clicked a mouse.

That wasn't in the original story b/c I didn't want the post to be THAT LOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG.
So, there was no SNEAKING INTO A BAY. No UNANNOUNCING.   You seem to have a lot of preconceptions about "people and types."  Such prejudice.
You know what happens when you Assuyou.  You make an a-- out of u and you (leave me out of it).

The way the saying goes, is, when you assume, you make an a** of you and me. I assumed nothing, in this case, until I actually stopped myself from saying that you would reply with a revised story. I wish I'd gone ahead, now, because I "assumed" you had more sense and class than to try that old one on us.
There's nothing revised. I didn't include every swing in my story.  I didn't include the part where we ate at In N Out (I had the Flying Dutchman with Animal Style Fries and Diet Coke. My daughter had Grilled Cheese with Grilled Onions and a 7up with a splash of pink lemonade).  . I didn't include what I bought at Toys R Us.  I didn't include looking for a glove (none in my size).  I didn't include hitting an I20 to compare against my current driver.  I didn't include collecting up the balls putting them in the basket before and after I hit, out of courtesy.

The story was about something that happened in 3 minutes and the behavior of a particular unprofessional employee.
YOU created a back story, in order to suppose some angle in which you could be a hero sales person who looks down on customers.  I refuted that BECAUSE YOU created a false scenario aimed at insinuating behavior by me, which you were not a witness to.

AND YES. I know the phrase is "assume" that should be obvious by my paraphrasing. I altered it because you embarrassed yourself.
Don't project your lack of sense and class on others.
Moving on.
