I have the normal ones with KBS tours in them, so they're not run of the mill RBladez. If I were to get them I'd want 4-9 with them all bent a degree weaker.

What's the real upgrade between the two? I like to believe that learning to use equipment made for better players will make you a better player.

+1 with what Lobber said. The best irons/driver/putter is not the always the newest or the most expensive, it is whatever you hit the most accurate with the most consistency. For me, that is a R1 (hit straighter and 36 yards on average longer). My mc irons work just like I need and my scotty putter.... Well it's a scotty so everyone knows how that works.

I agree with the first part -- but the second part goes against the first.

To the OP, the rbladez you have now have a very different profile from the Tours. The Tours might or might not be better for you and your swing. But you won't know that until you hit them.

I wasn't going to say the second part, but I've never met anyone who did not like a scotty, so I figured that one might be across the board haha

I definitely love MY Scotty... :D

Anywho, is it true that most TMaG fitting carts now have the tour heads? Could I go into a golfsmith and shoot them out tomorrow?

The tours have a much smaller head and sharper leading edge and I really like that...

Also, I'm finding this to be true (especially with fairway woods). I hit smaller clubs easier and better than bigger ones. This is why the Razr Fit Xtreme 4 wood ultimately beat the RocketBallz Tour 3HL in the most important shootout of my own personal 2013 golf year: the size. It has just the eensiest bit shallower face and more compact size. I could hit the RFX off the deck all day with great results but kept stubbing the RBZ2 on the mat.

I think maybe it's like this in my brain: "The less club for you to mis-hit, the less clubs you will mis-hit."

I could be crazy. It could also be that I'm just ready for players irons. I have been playing for 9 years...

I hear you. It was just pretty funny sounding after the first part. lol (And, my SC and I are fighting right now, so we'll see if it gets a chance to make it back onto the course this year...)

what works for some wont work for all. definitely go get fit or hit them first

im a pro and i play the tours, another pro here plays the standard bladez with rocketfuel stiff shafts. so just cause its a standard club doesnt mean it wont fit a better player. but i agree a smaller head is just easier for me to hit, seems less chunky.

time to compare both clubs to each other and see if one fits better then the other. you arent gaining anything by going to the tours except look, sound, and feel. the standards are longer, launch higher, more forgiving and are designed to be easier to hit. thats not taking anything away from the tours, they are still forgiving and easy to hit. but they didnt get the full steroid treatment the standard bladez did.

I was hoping you'd reply to this, Caesar! :D

I'm definitely not making any decisions until I've hit them/gotten fitted for them. I've called every golf store in Nashville, and none have them in their carts. Guess it's the waiting game, now.

Sidebar: Also forgot they had the milling. That also makes a big difference to me...

Agree with Ceasar - Ones mans gold is another mans .... well you know what I mean.  For me it all comes down to looks, feel and performance - and you wont know unti you hit them side by side.   There seems to be more difference than simply offset and stronger lofts and Ceasar can probably fill you in better than anyone, especially seeing he went for the normal 4 iron to compliment the 5-PW Tours.  I will bet if you start hitting the normal Bladez great this will be less of an issue and not give you as much worry.

absolutely agree with you there. if you can hit the normal ones and you like them. stick with them

for all the members at my club who are interested in the bladez i tell them the tour long irons are great and easy to hit, but the standard ones are just that much easier. like you said ive got the standard 4 iron and my standard 3 iron (driving iron) will be here thursday. so ive been telling members if you want 3-PW i would go standard 3 and 4 iron.

but even know it makes me want the tour 3 and 4 iron because they look so darn good.

I hit both the normal and tour and..... I LOVE the normal. I will be ordering a set. I will however change the lofts. A 4* strong 5 iron is ridiculous. For me, the heavier shafts worked better in the irons. The 85g just did not perform as good as the C-Taper or Modus 130.

are you changing just the 5 iron loft? id be very very careful adjusting the lofts on the irons. yes the IDEA of a 4* strong 5 iron is ridiculous, but it does not fly like the 3 iron its lofted too. so making them to much weaker and youll hit them to high and lose distance. just a thought, be careful. taylormades engineers know better then we do.

You don't think 1 degree weaker would do much difference bounce-wise, do you? I want them one weaker to keep a 3 degree difference between the 4 and my 3 hybrid and I want to retain my 48 vokey as my pitching wedge. It seems this would be the only viable option gap wise seeing that it would have been a 48 PW when bent anyway. *Hopes for positive answer* :D

i think 1* is fine, i mean they only allow 2* loft change anyway. but i wouldnt go messing around to much. the standard PW is 45* and tour is 47* so you arent too far off with a 48* vokey, just a touch off.

i will tell you this, the 3 hybrid of out of the bag since i got the standard 4 iron. and the 3 hybrid was the club i had the most confidence in.

Funny story, I actually got it TO replace my RBladez 4 iron... :D

25% because of the versatility difference. 75% because I wanted something that said X Hot Pro on it in my bag.

Blame it on the ho in me.

The TM website says +9 yards versus the PING G15's (at least for the 6-iron).  I need to put these up against my G15's in the launch monitor and see how accurate that is.  Anyone here switch from PING's to these for this season?
