Had a light bulb moment. Perhaps the specs of women's golf clubs might be perfect for the aging male golfer. These clubs have more loft, and they are shorter, lighter, and more flexible...hmm!

So I now have a Cobra Baffler T-Rail women's 3-Wood, and the matching 7-Wood. I also got a set of women's Cobra Baffler Blade irons, 3-PW & SW.

Hit these clubs at the driving range today, scary good. Can not wait for summer!

I remember a contest in New York magazine and the premise was to take a line from a classic poem, add a second, new line to make an original.  One of the winners that week was this:

Back to the original post and leaving aside the Rime of the Ancyent Marienere or Golfer, there are other ways apart from going down the soft shaft + Light head solution to golf for ancients.
The one I prefer and adopt is to use the same shaft and add a few swing weights. It's my muscle speed which has declined, less so my strength, so I'm going to swing the club slower so I like the idea of keeping the momentum going through the ball by adding mass. Anyway it seems to be working for me.I think the shaft flex is relatively softened by adding more mass at the end so you get two bites at the cherry. Anyone else try this approach?

Great idea, and that's the way I am going next.  My second trip to the range found the women's irons a disappointment.  The woods might just be a winner.
