Hey guys, I just wanted everyone thoughts on this. The local driving range has a deal where you can be a member basically and pay 300$ for 1 year of unlimited balls.  I would think this is a good deal because he carries large-8$,Mid-6$, & Small-4$.  This is a pretty big range and unlike a lot of driving ranges people can hit off the grass until he has to regrow it, then it's the mats. Which I think most driving ranges is just mats.
Does any of your driving ranges do this and if so what's the prices?
Thanks!

$25 per month for unlimited range seems like a deal to me. It's $7 here for a large bucket so if I do that once a week I've already exceeded what it would cost you. I'd say go for it!

Very good deal for less than $6 a week.  The course near my house used to sell yearly range passes for $199 until new management took over.
The new management called it "the home of the 10 cent bucket", and now charges $8 for large, $5 for small.

I stopped practicing there and went 1/2 mile away and am paying $2 per token (20 balls).

If you use the range regularly, $300 is a good deal.

I wish more ranges offered yearly deals like that. Driving range prices have gotten out of hand at a lot of places. For $300 for unlimited balls I'd be all over that. The closest thing I have around here is a bulk purchase where you can buy 20 large buckets for the cost of 15. So that's essentially 20 practice sessions for $150 ($10/bucket + the 5 freebies). Averaging 2-3 days a week of hitting balls and I'm going through that in about 8 or 9 weeks.

My local course has a 50 dollar year round pass if you are a member. membership for my wife and I is like 550 a year. The course is well taken care of as well. Probably one of the best deals around.

My range's best deal is 50 buckets for $150. If you go during happy hour you get 75 balls instead of 50. If they offered a yearly deal like that I would be all over it.

Oh and everybody this is a private driving range not a course! I work at the best CC in town and our range is really small. Also we have no ball washer and the balls get really bad, quick.  I have hit there 3 times with my new nike vr pros and I can already see marks. This is why I want to go to a real range to hit good balls in a open area at targets.

The course closest to me has a range that's free and a huge practice area. 5 greens for the short game area (you can hit 120 yard shots into the greens from end to end), 2 putting greens, and all grass tee boxes on the range. The local range (not on a course) is $7 small, $9 Medium, $12 large, and I believe they have a yearly membership for $450.

wish I could find one like this! I am planning on 600-800 in range costs this season unless I join a club. I would definitely go more if I had a pass..so go for it unless you hit less than a bucket a week. I would guess you'd use this (amount) just on warm up for actual rounds.

It's great to have a home set-up, but hitting off grass and seeing the ball flight is where it's at.

OP: That sounds a cracking deal! I've paid a couple hundred bucks for an annual 'club card' which gets discounted green fees and 1/2 price range balls. I'd much rather just have your option. Jump at it.

One size option for me... $10 for 70 balls here (year round, have a dozen heated bays.)  They also sell memberships that get you 30 buckets a month and an exclusive members area ( 2 traps, chipping and putting) for $1,000.  Seems pretty steep to me, but that's like all thing New England golf I guess.

A local course has a range with a similar deal.   For $350, it's unlimited range balls...plus they have a 3 hole practice course and short game area.   Normal price is $4 for a small and $8 for a large bucket.

The kicker for me is the weather...I lose about 3 months to winter weather.

So it's about $39 a month (9 months) during the seasons where I can use the range...if I go 5 times month (during those 9 months), the range pass is a value.   Considering I was going to range 3-5 times a week last year...I got more than my money's worth.

I am searching around me (Western Illinois). Right now cost is not bad, as I can hit indoors for 100 balls for $5. It's about 30 yards of area to nets so you don't get the true flight but for what I am working on it's ok. I can twice a week for$10, it's not too bad for Jan-Feb but I also am not hitting any irons because of not judging the distance or direction, which is what I try to dial in with range work.
Outdoors I am 10-15 minutes from 2 course ranges. One is a great practice facility. good range with 100 balls for $7 but I can use the short game area with my own shag bag and hit for hours. So I can get a lot of work in for the 7 bucks. But it's still running me $100 a month during peak time. AND that's not counting any range warmups for actual rounds.
If I had an option, I am sure I would hit more buckets if there was a membership/season pass.

Pay 135 a month for unlimited -- pretty steep for a driving range but it's lighted and open till 10 with grass! not to mention it's 3 minutes from my house and work!
