Not the trooper I use to be but I'll say if it's in the 40s I'm game. Usually if it's below freezing the greens are frozen and they won't have the course open. Must not be that way everywhere.

I played about 7-8 holes one winter after we had a big thaw and most of the snow melted off. I was itching to play, so i pulled up to one of the courses that has a year round resturant business going that keeps it open. I told the guy at the bar I wanted to play. HE looked at me like I was nutts! He had me pay him $5 for the golf, and then he laughted at me!

I went out and played, and it was 8 below zero!

Divots weren't happening, as your club just bounced off the ground like it was cement! My biggest memory is of a few of my high irons landing on the greens and bouncing 20-30 high, as if they'd been hit onto a parking lot.

Having fed my need to golf, I withdrew early from the round late in the front nine near the parking lot.

It's all relative. If in the middle of winter there's a 40 degree day and no snow, I'll consider it. In the spring f it's below 50, it has to be sunny and no wind, and I'll walk. I'd rather not ride below 50.

Beginning of the season no lower limit, end of the season in fall it's around 5-10* Celsius so 40-50* fahrenheit

Nowadays? I really do not like nor enjoy playing in weather below 50*. I'll play below that if it's a tournament or the last/first round of the year but other wise I would rather stay warm or just hit a few balls on the range.

When I was a kid/teenager? If the snow was clear there was no limit but it was usually at least 30*. My younger brother and I were traditionally always the first players out on our homecourse back in Michigan every year. As I've gotten older my body just doesn't move as well in that type of cold and the fun/enjoyment level drops off dramatically!

Some of the strangest weather I've played in was back in the Regional finals to move on to the Michigan State Championship back in the fall of 1982. It was around 36-38 degrees when we teed off that day and the temprature went down from there.
It usually doesn't snow in Michigan in October but I was in the last group that day and with three holes to go it started snowing. By the 18th tee it was near whiteout conditions and the coaches came out to see if we were ok to finish. My coach said I could make like double bogey and we were still good to make States so I pushed to keep going and we finished up. I still remember my downhill/sidehill birdie chip on a snowy icey green, kinda weird and puts a new twist on so called "slick greens" lol!

If it's not blowing a gale I'll happily play in short sleeves all the way down to frost, ie a couple of degrees C (roughly 34f). Lower than that I'll still play but need an extra layer!

If it's my choice and not forced to play because of a tournament 60 degrees is my minimum. This is a problem considering I live in Minnesota. Just 3 more years til I graduate and get to move away .

upper 40's and no wind is my limit. low to mid 50s and high wind is not fun. generally a fun round is 60 and above..ideal is 70-80, tolerable is 80-90, once you get in the 90-100 range with high humidity it just sucks the energy out of you,,especially if walking

The coldest I've played in was -6C when we teed off.  Ground was frozen, which made for some massive drives, but pretty tricky approach shots.  'Warmed' up to about 5C by the time the round finished.

Hardly get a chance to play cold weather here in South Africa, but during the three winter months you get some very chilly mornings (Some places around freezing). My coldest was around 5 degrees Celcius (41F) about 6:00 in the morning (cold lasted an hour). I could not feel my hands and will never attempt to do that again.

Then again, we suffer on summer days too...when the Mercury hits 40 degrees C and up (104F).

I'm with OPs. I'll play anytime. Temp. is relative but I WILL NOT play when it falls from the sky or in winter when the wind blows. Going to be outside in that I'll go duck hunting.
