Meanwhile I was waching the first round of the Dubai Desert Classic Tournament on European Tour, it seemed to me that Scott Jamieson was wearing Nike TW13 Golf Shoes (not lunar 2 for sure, you can see the high boot on the picture and the red rivot)

For me it is the first time I see others than Tiger to wear their shoes...

Here's a pic

I enjoy the irony when I see guys like Ames and Rocco Mediate wearing the TW shoes considering they are guys that had "history" with Tiger.

With Ames, he talked smack at the Matchplay and got a horrible beat down and with Rocco he went 19 extra holes with Tiger only to lose the US Open.  Maybe it speaks to how comfortable the shoe is that these guys still wear them?

For perspective, you wouldn't see a guy on the Thunder wearing a pair of LeBrons during the NBA Finals would you?

I think you're definitely right about the LeBrons. But guys were wearing Jordan's in the league when Jordan was in his late 30's like Tiger is now. I guess now that Tiger is in his 'Washington Wizards' phase of his career it's more acceptable to wear his shoes like players did with Jordan's.

And I'm not trying to compare Tiger to Jordan in terms of being a overall superstar because I'm not an idiot. However, Tiger is to golf what Michael Jordan is to basketball in terms of branding.

I also find it somewhat funny that Ames is wearing the 'retail' version and not the 'tour' version. I've always wondered with TW had his shoes fully white compared to the black on the toe.

There are guys in the league who wear Lebron's who aren't on the HEAT but it's not as prevalent as Jordan's were back in the day.

I don't see that many people wearing Brons but a lot of players in the league wear Kobe's shoes, including when playing against him.

I think Carl Petterson was wearing a pair earlier this year, but i could have been mistaken.  Also, i think one of the Molinari brothers was wearing a pair in Abu Dhabi.

Its not unusual for ANY company to offer an extra kicker (cash) for anyone winning a golf tourney with specific product- especially new models such as TW13 golf shoes.

I'm sure dustin johnson made a huge amount with the R1 driver win in Hawaii

Are the other Nike players not allowed to wear them? I don't understand why it matters if another player is wearing a Nike Shoe that happens to have Tigers name on it, it's just a shoe.

Jhonaton Vegas wears them from time to time on the pga tour.

I think TW mentioned that he had the white cap put on the toe becuase he didn't like looking down at the black.  they put black on the retail version because the white would get really dirty really fast.

hahah, not quite. I just always wondered why his were white and the retail were black. I hate looking down at the black.

I've been curious about this topic too. You hear how comfortable they are, but most of these claims are from amateur golfers so it's not as though that will translate to tour players.

He's never commented on the white toe.  Someone prove me wrong because I would love to hear his explanation.

While he hasn't commented on the black toe sooner is right. Back in the day I remember him commenting that he never wore saddle shoes because he didn't like the look while putting/ looking down.
