Hi all,

I have stumbled across this Napa during a big clear out of golf clubs. I realise it is a Titleist Scotty Napa, but I cannot find it on the Cameron Archive. All of the napas listed there do not have this polished chrome finish.

I am no Scotty expert, but would love to know a bit about this putter ie year or any particular story behind its release. Many thanks for any input.

I thought the '95 classic Napa had a dark finish. Certainly seems that way in the picture, especially considering all of the other classics were finished black gloss???

Maybe someone may have taken the gun blue off and polished it?  It sure does look like the classic 95 version though.

Even though its had a new finish? Wow, would never had thought such an old putter would be worth so much. I have to say its in immaculate condition, looks as if its never seen a green. I shall be keeping hold of it as it used to belong to my dad. Thanks for all of your input.

Yep. She's a beauty. I love the old classic heads even without the gun blue.

My brother bought me a Laguna in that same line and I'll NEVER get rid of it.

It rolls real well, just perhaps a bit too traditional looking for me. I'm sure there's a reason no tour guys use the 8802 style.

some Cameron purists may frown upon the aftermarket refinish, which in turn may affect the value (not worth as much).

I wonder if it's an aftermarket finish or just buffed the finish off?  I can't remember what these putters look like without the blue.

I guess it all depends on your definition of refinish.  taking off the original finish (whether by buffing or otherwise) and applying a new finish, other than original, or in this case buffing it out, is to me a refinish.  I don't think Scotty's Custom Shop would buff out the original finish and thus would be considered aftermarket.

I think I'm eventually gonna send it to the CS to have it restored to its original gun blue. I really like the chrome finish, but if I'm gonna keep it, it may as well be in its former glory with a new shaft, original grip & headcover. Could be the start of a collection......

I think that's the best option.  Also, keep in mind that the GB finish is not very durable and may rub off after use.  You may consider going with the new Black Oxide Mist or the Oil Can Mist finishes.  They are a $50 upcharge, but they're worth it, because they will not rub off.  Good luck

Hmmm, does the face look funny to anyone else? I don't see any mill marks and the angle of the neck to the blade looks funny? I'm prob just getting an optical illusion from the angle, a straight on face shot would be nice

Face on shot as requested. There is no milling on the face, it's as smooth as a dolphins nose. I agree the finish would suck on a bright day, could always try and melt ants with it. See what you think.

No question that it is an aftermarket finish mod.  I would have no problem paying $300 for this and spending another $150 to restore it.  These are some of the best Camerons out there, and the Napa is one of the most desireable.  Great putter, if you like the polished naked look, roll with it.
