It isn't really free. They raised their prices on Priority Mail. But it is something they needed to do considering all of the competition offers continuous tracking on all shipments.

Was 'tracking' a 'Ho purchase I made, was showing last update yesterday in MO, arrived today, so USPS Priority mail was 4 days from KC to DFW, and tracking was delayed about 24 hours.

The last item I sold on here supposedly had  that tracking...problem is that it didnt even register until after a week.  USPS tracking is a crock of...caca...   I ship USPS to save time ot if its requested. I ship Fedex any time its up to me.

Usps does not offer tracking service unless registered or certified or express.... All it is is a new name for included delivery confirmation.

The process never changed,  just the name

Tracking. Yes I know the difference.

BTW, many complains about USPS tracking when the shipment crosses board. I have had zero problem on those neither. Here is the most recent one I sent.

Yea I have had zero problems with USPS. The only situation I ran into was I shipped a putter using Priority and it took 6 days to get from Jersey to Alabama. When I called to check on it, they called me back 2 days later and said it was delivered (which I already knew). When I said isn't it 2-3 days, gaurenteed by 5? And she said yes, for Priority and that I shipped it Parcel. I said I have never shipped anything Parcel and it was even shipped in a Priority box/tube. But since I could not find my receipt there was nothing I could do about it. No big deal, it was less then $10 to ship it.

But hey guys, sorry if this is not news to any one on the tracking part. It was to me. Seems like it was to a few others. Let me know if you would like to me to have the topic locked.

I had a package sent Monday from Texas.  Got here today. Still shows in Texas.  Then magically shows delivered.

That is delivery confirmation. Not tracking.

When I dropped a package off on Tuesday they put a "tracking number" on it. Not a delivery confirmation number. It was a scanned barcode. I have always gotten delivery confirmation so I know the difference between the two. I asked the clerk. He told me this was new starting this past Monday. On my receipt it said TRACKING NUMBER: ********


My whole point of this thread was that it would eliminate the excuse that the seller "forgot" to get delivery confirmation or even worse did not want to pay for it on XX.XX purchase and was losing money. Thought it would be a help to us on this site. Not start a "its this" "its that" topic. Oh well

If it was sent priority it has tracking. Has for a long time. Sometimes it does what you just explained. That means it did not work properly.Everytime i send usps priority i get a trackind # and track it on line the whole way to destination. No doubt about it. Priority has tracking and a tracking number.

Lol.  How about FedEx ground?  I hate usps, with a capital H.  They take forever.  I especially don't like having USPS shipping shoved down my throat when the seller is having me pay for shipping.  I never bought on wrx, but I have on ebay.  I ran a comparison for a recent purchase.  10 bucks for FedEx ground in 2 days, or 20 for USPS for 2 to 8 days.  It's day 7 and nothing.  I would have been happy if he would have sent via FedEx and pocketed the difference.

I've had the exact opposite experiences. Everything I ship I use USPS Priorty mail and unless its over 50 inches long it has always been cheaper. And with Priorty it is delivered within 2-3 business days.

Agree with Noyes here...USPS is by far the quickest and cheapest shipping method out there...and they seem to damage alot less packages as well...Fedex is the WORST in my opinion, I always just pray my package shows up ok when I see a seller is shipping fedex

Except that was Delivery confirmation. Not Tracking.  USPS does not offer tracking (100% true tracking service) unless express, as I stated before.  If you ask one of the employees at the post office they will confirm that it is indeed delivery confirmation that has been rebadged and included now in the Priority pricing. |

The only time it looks like "tracking" is if they actually scan it at every stop. But they do not have to do that, so its not really tracking.

I have wonderful luck shipping with FedEx, I have never had a damaged product ever and I've shipped a lot with them. USPS on the other hand has been awful...BB

And I haven't really had an issue with usps but fedex on the other hand has lost a package, broken two coming to me, and lost one I shipped to someone...and usps is almost always cheaper and way faster

Those triangle boxes are great!  They send them to you for free 20 at a time.  I have always used USPS for everything.  I always print my own labels and insure my packages.  Normally I will just go and drop them off or have the postman pick them up.  I just shipped a 50" box the other day with no problems.

haha Ben we get it you don't like USPS. I just shipped a shaft, a hybrid, and a belly putter all using Priority mail and my total bill was $23.05. For 3 packages. 2 of them are supposed to arrive on Monday (shipped Saturday morning) and the other Tuesday. This is why I like USPS as my expierences with fedex/ups this would have cost me around $40.

Tracking update, let's see accepted Monday in WoodDale, IL....Priority Mail, stil shows accepted at WoodDale not less than 5 minutes ago when I checked.

It's awesome, must be stuck in WoodDale...no wait, the government runs USPS, no wonder they can't keep anything working correctly.

I got scared today when I read the USPS was stopping Saturday delivery.  Then found out package delivery wouldn't be affected.
