Hey guys. Have not seen this on here yet so just a heads up. USPS now has tracking. Not delivery confirmation but actual tracking. The best part of this is that it comes for free with Priority shipping.

This really helps us out on here and the BST. Now it comes with it for free and there should not be any excuse as to why it does not come on a shipment!

I never purchase tracking with USPS.  I always opt for delivery confirmation and use that to track my package.  It's more accurate and timely than actual USPS tracking that cost more.  Is that what you're trying to point out?

i just sent a priority mail package out and got the tracking#... but is there any way to track the package online??
i cant find anywhere online to track the package..

Anyone else running in to an inability to print online labels with a box longer than 46"?  I couldn't print a label last night for some irons, and it appears their new online limit is 46".

Ok, I guess I was too vague for you guys. I apologize.

Before Monday, when you used say USPS Priority mail you would have to purchase Delivery Confirmation. It was around 85 cents. If you did your shipping labels online thru paypal it would be free. Delivery Confirmation though, no matter what any one tries to tell you, is not tracking. It is scanned into the system when you drop your package off....and then scanned in when the package is delivered. Period. Nothing else. Every once in a while you would see it scanned in some random location but I was told by USPS that any time that happened it curtosy, not gaurenteed.

Now you will automatically receive tracking...for free. Your tracking # gets printed on your receipt and you can either call a 800 number or go on USPS.com to track the package.

I think this is a great step for them all together. Not only do they finally offer a true tracking but now it comes with your purchase just like UPS and Fedex.

This has also been an issue with some sellers on here. Saying they did not want to spend the extra on Delivery confirmation and you never get the confirmation #. That excuse is now out the door.

Just my .02 but since I use USPS so much on here and in general I am pumped about it.

Delivery Confimation was not a true tracking service. It was confirmation for you the shipper when the package was delivered. Period. Nothing in between. Now you will have true tracking with your shipment.

Yes and there are no more delivery confirmation numbers, its just a true tracking number... On the boxes that are over 46'' they are calling them ir-regular for some reason. I had issues with this on Monday shipping some wedges.

Ive had really good luck using these for wedges and putters. You can order them from USPS for free and they ship them to your door for free. I believe they came as a 10 pack.

If you do it right, you can get 3 wedges in there!

Works great for wedges and putters. If you need to ship anything bigger, you can cut the end off one and add it to another with about a 4 inch overlap. Just make sure to keep it under 46 total. The drivers need to go in a different manner since the bigger club head won't fit in there. So, no matter the Frankenboxing, it won't work.

Does anyone know why the stupid new 46" limit.  I know, for a fact, I had done online labels for up to 50" boxes before.

I shipped a package yesterday (well my wife did for me) and they didn't give her a tracking number? They told her tracking was free with it though...is the tracking number on the receipt or something?

I noticed the tracking info terminology change the last couple of packages I sent out.  But honestly I never had an issue with the old system because all of my packages would be scanned when they were picked up, at the sort facilty in northern VA, at the arrival PO, and then again when it went out for delivery (and it would say it was out for delivery).  That's enough tracking for me.  I don't really need to know the package is sitting at some sort facility in some random town.  But that's just me.

Johnny, I agree. Shipped off the elements to CA yesterday and the girl at the counter was trying to explain it to me. She failed. No worries as I get insurance on everything due to $200 of gear getting 'misplaced' with only confirmation.

I have had tracking # with USPS priority for years that I sent packages. When you create shipping label online, tracking is provided for free. It's not really something new at all.

Lol.  How about FedEx ground?  I hate usps, with a capital H.  They take forever.  I especially don't like having USPS shipping shoved down my throat when the seller is having me pay for shipping.  I never bought on wrx, but I have on ebay.  I ran a comparison for a recent purchase.  10 bucks for FedEx ground in 2 days, or 20 for USPS for 2 to 8 days.  It's day 7 and nothing.  I would have been happy if he would have sent via FedEx and pocketed the difference.

I've had the exact opposite experiences. Everything I ship I use USPS Priorty mail and unless its over 50 inches long it has always been cheaper. And with Priorty it is delivered within 2-3 business days.

And when they're out of stock, FedEx and UPS also offer them free and can be inside-out assembled in a minute for USPS service.

I'm a shipping expert, LOL.  My advice is never bring the long boxes into USPS if they're close to 48" long as they will bust out the tape measure and charge you the balloon rate.  Easiest bet is to print online and give to your postman or woman.
