He did play at Independence HS - he is a senior

His junior year he lost to Zach Wright (LSU) shooting 63/67 at Del Urich in Tucson (par 70) - Wright shot 62/63

This past fall he lost to Matt Ziringus from Desert Vista. Anthony shot 72/67 at Aguila and Liringus shot 65/68

Two runner up finishes in Division 1 state golf - not bad...he just ran into two kids that lit it up more than he did...

I have hit balls next to him at Maryvale a few times - he hits it a mile and is just very consistent. I coach HS golf and watched him this year at the state tourney. He has a great all around game. Very big future as he can take it LOW - obviously...

Since he is not in college yet he can claim the "prize" of up to $750 per tournament - usually paid out in gift certificates to the course. During the academic year an NCAA athlete can accept up to $400 in prize vouchers. Skins games are out though for NCAA Athletes.

I played with Anthiny Quesadilla in the first round of the state championship last year when he went low in Tucson. He chipped in 3 times. I was told that he announced that he was going pro at the First Tee meeting. Same with Liringis, he is also going pro.

The kid has some talent, no question, but he is miserable to play with.  I thought junior golf and the First Tee taught etiquette and manners?

I truly wish him the best with his career, but hope he seriously considers changing his attitude soon.

aside from his talent, i've heard nothing good about this kid...from etiquette and attitude to academics. that's too bad...
