I was wondering if anyone knows when the Nike flat brim hat Watney has been wearing will be available? I have last years model but his has a larger swoosh and the new side.

Should be out by the Masters. I have last years and like it a lot.

Feb. is typically the official launch for the new Nike gear.

I contacted Nike customer service today and here is what they said they said.

"I do not have an exact date on when the new golf hats will be hitting Nike.com, however, they should be releasing with our new spring line. That typically arrives to Nike.com at the end of February/early March."

Thanks for posting that link man.  Well, I don't think I'll be buying all of the colors anymore.  Maybe a black and a white one will suffice.

Now I can disregard what Nike customer service told me.

Edit: I just looked and they are already sold out of the white version in L/XL. I guess i'll have to wait until another site puts them up.

keep checking...i don't think L/XL has been posted yet. i'm sure as they continue to receive their new inventory, it'll be up soon.

Maybe they are using a older pic?  The swoosh does look larger than last years model.

Has anybody found another place other than DiscountGolfWorld selling these yet? I want to place my order for one white and one black, but they won't have the L/XL in white until the middle of the month. Does Dicks release new Nike apparel immediately, because I would check there tomorrow if the 2/1 date on DiscountGolfWorld's site is accurate.

Since i've been on a man hunt for the new 2013 hat to no avail, I figured I would update this thread with what i've found. DiscountGolfWorld, didn't get them in stock for the 2/1 shipping date and have removed the visible link off their wesbite. You can still find it in a google search, but they don't have the hats in stock yet.

I just placed my order with a seller on amazon,they have every size and color in stock, and are supposedly ready to ship.

Have the materials been modified at all? I wish they'd move to the under armor flat brim style build. Much lighter and freer feeling hat overall. This looks much better though.

Chappie, I don't think so but have you tried the L/XL size on? I have a big head and it fits comfortably. My order ships out Monday so i'll let you know if there is any material change as soon as they get here.

I fit the M/L, I just prefer the under armor construction. After wearing them for a bit now I realize how the Nike flat brim is thick and somewhat heavy to wear by comparison. Definitely is a more "constricting" fit, though not overly so. When I take my Nike off for instance there is a red line on my forehead. Not the case with the under armor.

That's exactly why I was saying to try the L/XL on. I fit fine in the M/L but it is more restricting on my head. The L/XL is just slightly larger. I was at my local golf store,Tour Stop, in Saint Augustine, Florida and spent about 30 minutes verifying which size I wanted to order in the new hat. As for the weight, I guess I never really noticed.

The L/XL is too large for me, it leaves an awkward gap.

The weight issue is something I didn't notice until I started wearing the UA hats, like I said. They probably weight half as much overall.

Pull off what look?  A flat bill hat?   It's not really that edgy looking at all IMO.  I love flat bills because they allow my sunglasses to fit so much better while I'm playing.

I actually don't even leave the bill completely flat (I bend it slightly) and still wear normal golf hats too. I agree with TheMoneyShot, it really isn't that hard of a look to pull off.

Yeah the only way you can't pull it off is if you have an improperly fit one. I actually don't wear the Puma's well because they have an awkwardly angled brim to hat binding, but that's just a different style of flat brim. You can definitely pull them off though really without much effort.

I also put a slight bend in my brim too. That way it moved with the lines of my head.

That's a good point about the glasses working better with a flat bill. I never thought of that.  I guess it's just an unusual look for the golf course IMO.  I haven't seen many people look good in a flat bill.
