Skipped out of work early and Walked on as a single today got hooked up with a guy and a woman that were playing together, I broke 80! For the first time!!! Shot a 79

Not a difficult track par 71, 70.4/121 6330 yds from the tips but I did it.

5 bogeys, 2 doubles, 10 pars and a birdie

I hit 11 of 14 fairways, 7 girs, I had 31 total putts including 14 two putts and 3 one putts

I scrambled on 11 hole and only saved par 36% of the time so getting up and down is something I know I need to work on.

The big thing for me is that now that I did it I know I can do it again.

Golf Rule #2: After your personal best comes the worst round you've played in some time.

Congrats on your accomplishment! I remember the first time I shot 79 (sub 80) for the first time! 2 eagles to make it happen! What a feeling though to add the numbers at the end of the round and know you did it!

Short game though... gotta get that in shape and that 79 turns into a 74 real easy.

Be good!

Yeah short game, I need fewer putts and need to be able to get up and down more often. The driver was working well today and I made it a point to not leave any putts short, like I said the phsychology of doing it lets me know I can do it again, and while I practice 5 days a week this adds motivation..

That's the truth! I shot my all time low of 73 this past summer, and the next round was something like 86 or 89 haha

Big congrats !

Just an odd thought I had.....

I'm amazed at how many higher cap players on here know their stats in such great detail. I can recount every shot of every round over say the last half dozen or more played and still couldn't give you any "stats" without looking them up.

That's kinda cool.

I seem to be able to remember every, maybe with the exception of some of the shorter putts, shot of my last round for about four or five days, then I have trouble, always seem to be able to remember the howlers and better shots for much longer though.

Golf logix, im not smart enough to keep track of my stats on my own......since i started doing it about 3 months ago it has been a HUGE help to my game and invaluable info on were I need to focus my energies.
