I want to know who his swing coach is.  Anyone know who teaches him that action?

His coach is Lars Nysøe, pro at Værløse Golfclub, just northwest of Copenhagen. They started teaming up eons ago.

Lars leads a radical splinter group of disgruntled golf swing coaches.

BTW, his name is Thorbjörn Olesen - and I think he will be one of golf's next shining stars and - finally capture a major for Denmark. Can't keep hoping that Thomas Björn will do it.
And here's me thinking his name was Thorbjørn Olesen. And I do agree that Thomas Bjørn are probably going to struggle to get one now. :taunt:

I agree, but it's neat to see how he has transformed. Last year at the British Open he was this unknown nervous young guy who was playing with Tiger and was excited and anxious at the same time.

Now he's serious and he plays to win. He's got that look in his eyes and he's got real talent. Wouldn't be surprised to see him win a few times in the next few years.

This thread is getting fussy.

This pic was probably from the when the tennis was in Sydney 2 weeks ago before RM went to Abu Dhabi. It wasn't the best result for Woz in Melbourne. They are probably together somewhere now.

I remember the same thing was said about Jason Day being the next "big thing." Until he wins and continues to consistently rack up top 5's I won't believe anything. Nothing against him though, hope he lives up to the hype.

That's not true at all. I've been watching the Euro's for at least 15 years on cable when it was SKY covering them ... before GC came along. It's just that most of the board are not hard core. this site is more about equipment hard core and who has the fastest club head speed and who hits the ball 330 carry....lol. But all kidding aside I think there's quite a few like me who love watching the EPGA. I love seeing the different talent and the different courses as well. And yes Thorbjorn Olesen is having a great start to his year and I put him on my fantasy roster for 2013 Fantasy Race to Dubai.

And I though the Europeans in general were much more laid back then us American folk who are a bunch of Arse %6$#..... lol

Woz is a big time choker in majors, a world number one who couldnt produce in the slams, a bit like Donald. Thankfully Rory dislodged Donald to return some semblance of credibility to the rankings.

Woz is too defensive to win a grand slam. She doesn't have a dangerous game to threaten the top girls.

I think the reason that there is no fuss is because he hasn't won enough. He has one win on the European Tour and a few wins on the Challenge Tour. Why should there be a fuss about him?

He might become the next big thing, or he might be struggling to make cuts.

Caroline was never a dominant player, her record against top ten players is woeful. She could beat lower ranked players without a problem but struggled against the better players. She played so many tournaments so that she was ranked high enough to get a good seeding in the slams, thus avoiding those good players until the later rounds. Woz was number 1 at a time when the really good players were playing only half a schedule (injuries, etc.). Woz wasn't the first though, Safina was a pretty terrible number 1 too. But unlike Caroline, Dinara didn't make so much fuss about being number 1. She didn't have this annoying Turkish airlines commercial ;) Anyone who follows tennis a little, knew very well that Caroline was far from the best player in the world. So all the 'being nr 1' business came across as very delusional.
At least Azarenka now is a worthy nr 1.

and back to the topic: I like Thorbjorn, have been following him for a while. He does look like the real deal, but it seems a little early to start hyping him.

Well, Fowler created a huge fuss because of an orange hat (and I really like Fowler), so one Euro Tour win should be enough for me ;)

He's don't nothing in years. 1 win and a 2nd. The rest are like 40th place and loads of missed cuts, all on the Euro Tour. That's why no fuss.

I am one of the few Americans who enjoy the European Tour more than the PGA tour, bc they play on traditional style golf courses with fairways that don't roll out 50 yards, and rough that is over an inch thick. Pretty much I like it better bc you can't just play bomb and gouge golf.

He will at least be a euro star, hearing him in interviews I believe he will be a loyalist that will only come over here for majors.

+1 .... You may not like the way he worded it, but it doesn't make it any less true. Seems to be a lot more Europeans in the US than vice versa.
