Golf is a funny thing for me. Some brands I like certain products and others I just cant get in to.

For example

Titliest iron just didnt feel right to me when standing over them but I love their balls and wedges

Taylor made is another one where I just cant hit their drivers and woods, I prefer the lower profile appearance and dont like their new putters but really like their irons r11 irons

really dont like Callaway balls but love their wedges

I love mizunos irons (currently using them) but wouldnt buy a driver of theirs

For me this will change Im sure. Golf evolves and so should we, but would be interested to hear what are some of your love/hate (not so much hate but "just cant get in to") relationships with golf.

I just don't get TM woods or irons. A buddy has a set that I tried. He loves them.

edit: I shouldn't generalize so much. I absolutely loved the old TM Firesole driver but I never could afford one back then. A few people on here and that I know swear by the burner 3 wood. The new TM woods always seem to make the top 5 in reviews but I haven't hit one.

As for likes I like my ping irons but loved my old wilson irons and may buy a set of fg-62 in the future. Woods I am still looking around.

Ping and Clevland.

Never get the picture out of my head of their insanely hideous looking irons back from when I was growing up.

The VAS and pretty much any "eye" model. Fortunately only one of those abominations became 'common' place. :)

Ping has the best overall equipment. Every thing from their drivers, irons, wedges and putters.

Taylormade. They irritate the he'll out of me, bringing out their new R99 driver next week. The R100 is slated for the end of February.

Taylormade's advertisement makes me cringe..if anyone thinks there going to gain 40 to 50 yards off the tee just by adjusting their driver is going to be very dissapointed. And why in the hell do you want your irons to go 20 yards farther..distance control?

Ping drivers/woods are ok.  I have never seen a single Ping iron that I like.  They're all horrific to me.

Before finding WRX, I was blissfully neutral on clubs, with the only outlier being a passionate 20 year love affair with Mizuno irons. Thanks to WRX though, I have discovered that I can hate certain OEM's solely for the fan-boys, reps and paid shills that post constantly about them. It's kind of sad really. Ignorance was bliss...

I'm actually fine when it comes to Mizpingaways....And with those that need not be named, I'm working on through counseling and a new medication. My Dr. has high hopes for my therapy.

I have a completely irrational dislike of anything Cobra. I've hit there stuff and some it is good stuff, I'd just never game it and I never look at their stuff when in the LGS.

I'm allergic to PING. Nice putters..not a fan of anything else they make.

Let's see let's see. I like titleist's blades. TM has nice woods. Callaway nice woods and the proto 'blades' are nice.
Wedges I like Titleist and TM. Cleveland 588 of course are juicy.

Adams woods, hybrids are nice too if I can get them bent flatter. Ya...all good really. Honestly if I ever get over Ping's look and it
makes me play better I'd bag it...much to gatorNate's disbelief!

Never been a huge fan of Ping until I hit the   I20  with CTapers  now that is a good combo.... I am also liking the look of the G25 irons... Ping heard us talking bout the G20 huge sole and man they made it better.  I really hate callaway drivers and Game improvement irons. I do however love the look of the  x-proto blades, probably the only piece of callaway equipment I would even think of owning. I would buy most items from Titleist/Cobra because I have liked everything I have tried from them. I like Taylormade I just dont wana buy a new driver every 3 months when the next newest best 17 yards longer one comes out.

I must confess that I am a Callaway junkie.  It started with the S2H2 irons I bought 18 years ago.  And it continues today with Diablo Edge irons, Big Bertha Diablo Driver / fairway wood, Paul Runyon putter, bag, balls, and sometimes shoes. Is there any help?  LOL

Really like Adams irons and Yes putters, all Cally's stuff (including Odyssey), Mizzy wedges, Titleist drivers, TEE fw's, all Nike woods, TM irons, Cally and Adams hybrids, all Ping stuff.  I really don't dislike any manufacturer's stuff.

Love TM and have for a long time. I think there is a genius to their marketing and their stuff is good. Spider is the only putter of theirs I ever got along with though.

I love Bridgestone, Mizuno and Tour Edge for their Exotics line.

I like Titleist and older TaylorMade stuff.

I cannot stand newer TaylorMade stuff (irons specially), Ping and Callaway (with the exception being Odyssey putters).

Over 38 years of golf the equipment I like/love:

MacGregor - Dead and Gone but "Oh My" were they tops in their day! I still have the last great set of forged blades they made, MT's from 2008.

Titleist - I've played their balls and clubs on and off over the years. I used a set of Tour Model forged blades from 1987-1991 and they were great clubs. They make great balls but I get better performance from Bridgestone 330-s these days. I do game a Scotty Cameron Newport II(best putter I've ever owned) and all my wedges are Vokey's.

Adams - They are tops in my opinion with Hybrids but all their clubs are of high quality. I currently play a set of CB2's and they are so easy to hit I pretty much feel like I'm cheating as a scratch player. I switched to them to gain some distance to stay competitve with the 20-somethings but I think the thing I really like about them is the KBS tour shaft. If I ever go back to pure forged blades I'm sticking with that shaft!

Callaway/Taylormade - I group these two together probably because of the era I grew up in. They both basically started out as metal wood Drivers and Fairway wood companies and I guess I will always look at them that way. They both make excellent fairway woods and Drivers and I could basically care less about anything else they make(although the Callaway blades Els plays makes me salavitate,,lol). I currently am playing a Diablo Tour 9.5* X-Stiff Driver I picked up at the end of last year and really like it so far.

Brands I dislike:

Ping - OK, don't shoot me, I know they have always made quality products and I did use a Ping putter from 1995-2000 but when I was young Ping was for straight up HACKERS!!!! It wasn't until the 1980's when you started to see tour players use thier woods/irons and in my junior golf era if you went up against a kid with Pings you knew you were going to light them up. So most of my dislike for Ping is purely generational.

Nike - What can I say,,,I can't stand Tiger so that pretty much covers it,,,,lol(Breaks my heart to see Rory go to the Evil Empire)! I'm sure they make some decent equipment but I don't look at their equipment as elite, it's more like adequate! I have hit some of their balls and have found them to be of equal quality to other top brands.

So intersting to see the various likes/dislikes. I love X and next guy hates it.
I was a Hogan devotee for years. Now Ping. Just like what I like. Don't hate on the others. Guess the OEMs are glad there's no one above all others.

A club design that is terrible on one course or part of the country could be the bee's knees somewhere else. It is all very subjective and there is no one right answer. I am glad they periodically make changes like that. Something for everyone.

i have owned and played stuff from most of the OEMS. If it works it goes in the bag, no fanboy loyalty or hater bias. Some stuff I may not like the look or colour of so I  just steer clear of those particular items. I do like
mizuno irons and never liked the look of triangular shaped driver heads
