Hey guys,

I will be playing in the Waste Management Phoenix Open with my father this coming Monday.  I will live update in this thread, and will have an article published on the front page probably by Tuesday.

My question for you guys is- what do you want to see?  I will obviously get range pics, many pics/videos of our pro on the course, and theres a possibility of a post round interview/WITB, depending on how willing the dude is.  But is there anything else you want me to take note of/ask him?

I'll have an inside the ropes range/clubhouse pass on Monday, and then maybe some extra tickets for every day of the tournament if someone wanted some.

Which pro are you playing with? Just relax and have a good time, don't be whipping out your phone on every shot it will be a distraction.

When I played my pro am I was tense on the front, played horrible then had a beer and cigar on the turn, relaxed and shot a 3 over on the back at Torrey South.

I saw the Kapalua tag, I have played in Da Game many many times, Ron still running the show I'm sure?
Having played in the Mercedes Championships at Kapalua and having been around golf all my life. The one thing that still impresses me is the ease in which most tour players swing. Their mechanics are so good they don't have to kill it.
Find the slowest looking swing out there are behold the quantum physics at work, amazing.

Also some of the hotties in the gallery, you are going to so cal for gods sake !!  :taunt:

Update: We are in the sponsor's pick group, so we will have the first selection, out of the above list plus any other pro who gets in late and wants another practice round, etc.  Thoughts?  I'm thinkiung Jesper, Kuehne, Wittenburg?

A perspective from a houstonian. Wm is not doing well, they stopped bonuses for employees in their base office, but still has the dough to sponsor a golf tourney. Odd business practice?

I'd go Jesper, Henley (thought rookies were exempt?), or Keuhne.

I am sooooo jealous.

Not the most exciting list ever, but that's a Monday pro-am for you.  I'd probably pick Henley since he's one of the hottest golfer's on the planet right now.  Jesper would probably be my second choice.  Being a veteran, he's probably got some good stories to tell.  Just don't mention Tiger to him.

Isn't this the tourny where BUbba was auctioning off the chance to play with him in the pro-am for like $100,000? If so did anyone bite. Also what happens if Bubba doesn't play bc he still has the flu, does that guy get his $$$ back?

My guess is it's due to a mutli-year contractual obligation. Just like Wachovia/Wells Fargo. When Wells Fargo bought Wachovia during the recession they weren't real keen on having their name attached to the spectacle that the media had turned golf sponsorship into. Which was a witch hunt on the supposed corporate greed/excess, i.e. people losing homes but banks sponsoring golf. But they were contractually obligated hence the rename to the Quail Hollow Championship. My guess is the WM has a similar contract. However my guess and only my guess would be if another sponsor stepped up at or above the same level they could be let out of the contract, but not really sure on that.

I have at least 8-10 videos of the range with various players, and a ton on the course with Russell Henley.  As for now, here's the few pics I took, (Sorry I don't know how to rotate the two pics.

Watching the replay.

Just watched the WM CEO stuff the closest shot and make birdie. I hope that stands, as it gives everyone with swings that horrible-looking hope.

Off topic, but I just saw on your itinerary that OAR is headlining the "Nest" tonight. Seen em here open for DMB. I may head over there! Oh, and cool pics, glad it turned out to be some nice weather this week.
