When the morning drive first came out, I thought it was great Idea, quick and relavent news of the world of golf, a recap of last weekends tourney for Men, ladies and sometimes juniors. They also included anything news worthy regarding golf, players, rules or controversy. Player and equipement profiles were also integrated where needed. There were 2 guys, 1 of which is back to Espn, his name escapes me right now. Both played off of each other, it was like I said a decent program.

Now when I turn it on, there is 4 sometimes five people, on a crowded set and now they all offer opinion, rather  than report the news, they talk over each other and as of late they try to one up each other, with stories and knowledge.  Now there is a new guy who handled the travel and leisure section for GD magazine great, so now when they have a guest on be it Anika or Brian Gay like this morning it turns into scripted questions being asked, and in my opinion degrades the quality of the show.

I don't know who's idea it was for 4-5 people to report in the morning several of the, are just reading scripts, but they are really coming off as a couple of seagulls at the dump with a new truck arriving.

Go back to 2 people with an occasional guest. These extra people have them report thier piece as a side bar. This will be far better than the token women and minority model to supposively attract additional demographics. It really dilutes   the product quality. Skin color or gender makes no difference to me, content does. If you wish to attract more viewers provide better content.

More Holy Sonders would do it for me. Even better, get rid of all those guys and have just Holy and that little blond gal do the morning drive. Maybe just one guy who knows something about golf to even it out. I wouldnt miss a show. More highlights of the weekend rounds. More golf, less talk.

Yeah Holly is fine again she is more of a side bar reporter and when she does sit in. Its mostly for the " front 9" segment.

Side question, What happened to the school of golf on Wednesday. I havent seen it for 2 weeks now. I have it set to record new episodes but I havent seen anything of it for a couple of weeks.

I'm one of the biggest golf fans on the planet and I'll admit the golf news is boring over December/January.   If they put two people on there giving updates of the golf news that show would die immediately.   They are desperately trying to fill the air with something interesting until golf gets up to speed again.

Oh, and less Holly, more Lauren please.

Yeah that's my point when " news" programs such as the current maine stream media go from reporting as well as investigating news to  supplying their own opinion, that's where things go in the dumper.

I liked when it was Eric Kuselias with Gary Williams because they seemed to be different enough to bring different angles to whatever they were talking about.  Now with Damon Hack on there I feel as though he just yields to Williams all the time and the show has become boring because of it.  

I think the producers throw so many people out there at times because Damon hasn't really found his voice yet on the program and until he does it would be like watching Gary Williams talking into a mirror when they're on by themselves.

Yeah one of the few that think it was waaaaay better with EK on. Yeah he was a goof and a meat head that didn't know a ton about golf. But IMO he was enetrtaining (which is why I watch tv) and like others said he and Gary fed off each other. Plus he knew how to conduct a "sports" interview, something the current folks know nothing about.

As for Damon Hack, can someone please confirm he is the new guy. I assume he is because he has been on the last 3-4 months. Also please dont EVER EVER EVER put Matt Ginella anywhere near MD or any other tv camera. That guy makes Jerry Foltz look like Captain Personality!!!!!

I still have yet to figure out why the GC uses Stephanie Sparks so little these days. She used to be on quite a bit, now she is relegated to Big Break. I think she would do a good job on something like MD.

I'll take EK over Damon Hack anyday.  Perhaps I'm one of the few who didn't mind EK.  Morning Drive was my intro to Kuselias as I never watch ESPN.

Kuselias was tossed from ESPN because he couldn't keep it in his pants (supposedly had an affair with a young intern or employee despite having a wife and kids at home). So he goes to Golf Channel where he again can't keep it in his pants (in this case, who can blame him?). I'm guessing that was why he was removed from the show and ESPN took him back.

I had the pleasure of meeting Lauren Thompson in person last summer. Even hotter in person than on tv. I was stunned.

If the show ever turns into the Stephen A. Smith/Skip Bayless train wreck on ESPN it will be the death of it. I'd rather watch Honey Boo Boo or Snooki than watch those two go at it with each other.

Def glad that bag of wind Kudouchelias is gone...was a bad idea...the fact he climbs all over Holly makes it worse. She is eye candy and thats all...which I have no problem with. The show is a great idea but they never know what to do with it and who to host it. I tune in sparsely and there are new people all the time. Number one they try to be funny and it is painful. Number two they try to be funny and it is painful!!! Leave the banter to low grade news anchors. Two solid hosts and a golfer guest host is enough!! I mean who is this Damon dude???? The Gary guy is annoying sometime but he speaks well. Also I tune in for golf and they have a chick on there giving financial reports??? Stick to good golf talk,interviews,equipment and anything golf!!! Leave the other crap to The View!!

UPDATE.... So Gary Williams, Kelly Tilghman, Rymer and Annika have all tweeted that they are going to be there for the big announcment. Guess we will find out in 25 mins.

Yeah it was NBS Sports Network, which used to be Versus.....

My bad (I had heard somewhere it was ESPN but I don't watch ESPN any longer)

Not a big fan of Holly, Win or Lauren....some cringe-worthy stuff coming from that group. I can head to google if I want to see pretty faces. I'd rather see...more Anika, Dottie and Judy Rankin...even Kay Cockerill would be an upgrade as to female presence. Not to mention that they are sorely lacking in people who can talk about the LPGA.

I've never watched morning drive.  Hated Kuselias when he was with ESPN, and Gary Williams annoys me.  I'd rather get my golf news from twitter or just by reading PGA Tour.com and golfchannel.com.

I hope that doesn't mean European Tour coverage is getting bumped to tape delay on weekend mornings.  I love being able to watch the live golf early in the morning on the weekends.  Definitely don't want to watch Williams and Hack and Rymer talk to each other about golf when I could be watching it live.

I believe you are correct aout the set being the BIG NEWS, I happen to like the old set, but only when there was two people with an occasional 3rd being the interview-ee. Holly gets her now podium and there are 10 big HD TVs. Ginella IMO is awful, very liberal thinking or I should say reading. Damon Hack reminds me of someone who says their a mid-handicapper when actaully they are more like a 30, sorry but he brings no value IMO other than a token. someone mentioned Stephanie sparks, although not nclude in the MD revamp. I believe she would offer better commentary based on her golf play, honesty and a touch of humor via banter. She along with Anika and Holly would be enough, but not all at the same time.

Havng so many on the set at once reminds me of NFL today, before the featured game.......they have 5 people sometimes 6 and all of the a waste of oxegen. I turn the channel.
