I was just wondering what the general consensus is on the WRX. Are you going to wait for the G25 or is it not worth the wait? And has anyone compared them head to head?

It depends on your needs. I went from the G20 to the Anser.  G20 has amazing ballspeed, but spin was a little high. I get more out of less with the Anser due to lower spin.

Try them both- either one properly fit will be great, but the G25 will definitely be more forgiving.

I agree, try'm both. G25 demos are arriving now so you don't have to wait to compare the two on a monitor and outdoors. Plus with the adapters for both drivers being the same, the shafts options offered on the Anser driver can be experimented with in the G25. I know players are seeing differences in forgiveness and spin but it seems Ping has blured the lines with these two drivers.

I own anser but I really like the way the g25 feels and looks. The anser feels rock hard but performs great. If I can get the g25 to the same numbers I will probably get one because it feels much better and it's more forgiving although the anser is no slouch in the forgiveness area.

I demoed both drivers twice and for me the Anser just feels dead and is less forgiving than the G25. I passed on the Anser and am preordering a G25.

Noticed the G20 in your sig.... How much improvement are you seeing with the G25 over the G20?

Thanks guys. I hit the Anser about the time it came out but stuck with my Razr Fit and felt the same dead feel some of you are saying. I have a Superstore near me but haven't been recently to check it out, so they should already have G25 demos?

I hit the G20, G25 and Anser today at Golfsmith.  All 10.5 and Reg stock shafts.  I only swing at 85mph so my results are meaningless for most of you.

The 20 felt the best to me probably because it feels like the K15 I have used for the past several years.

However according to the launch monitor the 20 was the shortest by 9 yards. (209 vs 218 for the others) Same ball speed but the spin was only 1800 so the carry was less.

The G25 and Anser were pretty close.  For both I got the spin up to 2200 and the distances were the same. However the Anser carried 5 yards further but had less roll.  Dispersion and launch angles were very similar.

Other members have stated the Anser spun a lot less for them vs the G20 but for me it spun more for some reason. Probably due to club head speed.

So what is best?  I would lean towards the Anser at this point but would have to hit it outdoors before making a decision.

I'm going to wait till it's closer because I can't really do much more than stare at it for 3 months once I'd get it anyhow.  That being said, both Anser and G25 give me near identical numbers, G25 is a little higher launch, but I have a SS in the 90-100 range and am always on that border between regular and stiff.  I tested both in a 10.5 regular TFC stock shafts had a real hard time getting my spin up above 2000 until I cranked both up to the + position.  Both feel good, both are basically a flip of the coin on which I prefer better and depends on that particular swing.  I did notice I have an occasional balloon pop up with the G25 where I didn't have that with the Anser.

I've owned the G20, i20, and Anser.  I also played the G25 for one round last week.  I think the forgiveness goes to the G25, then G20, Anser, and i20.  If you need a low spin driver, the Anser does that in spades.  So far, I find the G25 to be the right blend of length, forgiveness, and feel.  I prefer the G25 to the Anser, but you really need to be fit for these two if you can.  They may appear similar cosmetically with the matte black head and all, but they are quite different in performance.

Personally, I didn't care much for the anser's feel but it was a nice low spinning design. I much prefer the G25 in terms of feel and it is much easier to hit. That being said, the G25 is definitely higher launching and higher spinning than the anser. So it depends what you need. If I were going to buy a one I would probably throw a very low launch/spin shaft in the G25 head.

At higher ballspeeds, the Anser spins dramatically less than a g20. I haven't hit the G25, but tested the other two on Trackman this past weekend.  I have a level to -1 AoA so I don't launch drivers "ideally"

Of the groupings, my two best swings for each club produced 3470rpm for the G20 and 3080 for the Anser.  Same shaft, loft, and ball.  The launch angle was only off by .1 degrees between the two.

As usual, YMMV, etc.

I must say again. I hit them both for about 35 minutes indoors. It was a slow Monday evening at Golf Galaxy so they let me hit until I was worn out. They both look great to me at address. The G25 is more forgiving but not by much over the Anser. The Anser is one of the lowest spinning heads that I have hit. About 500 to 600 less than the G25. I would love to get them both outside and I would like to hit the G25 with a better shaft. That could be the difference but the Anser feels better to me still.

Just got the Anser 9.5, Ahina shaft.

Two extended range sessions, one day apart. Note - I'm working on a bit of a swing change, so there's a lot of inconsistency.

Day One (yesterday) - All over everywhere, but no distance. Felt dead. Couldn't get it to stay in the air. Very disappointed. Thought I had made a big mistake. Noticed that most of the ball marks were high on the face.

Day Two (today) - Apparently I have moved to a different universe. Cranked the loft up the 1/2 degree overnight, but that hardly explains the difference. Hit it pretty good. Felt solid and alive. Carrying 30 yards further. Can't be the same club I hit yesterday, but it is. Still not a high launch. Couldn't tell about runout, since I was hitting the back net. Noticed that today's ball marks were center face, much lower than yesterday. I'm hopeful again, though wondering if 10.5 might be better for me.

Tomorrow morning will be Day Three. Wonder what it will bring.

Had a G15. Loved it. Usual lament- why or why did I let it go? Got the G20 and was never really satisfied. Santa brought the Anser. After several times at the range and a few rounds I'm not going to look at anything else-- for awhile. I am not sure why some people say it's not forgiving. I have no problems with direction and the distance IS greater than the G20, for me about 10 yds. Less spin they say. So if the 25 spins more I know I am not looking. I got the RIP Phenom shaft and am thinking of getting another. It will be like having two drivers. Ping told me I could buy another shaft. Does  anyone have any feedback on the Blur Red shaft that is offered in the Anser?

I have a Blur. Really nice shaft with a softer tip than what I am used to playing. Feels so easy to swing. Gonna be a little heavier than the Phenom that comes with the Anser. Not a fan of that shaft because of the weight. However, I hit one of the 70 gram Phenoms that came with the Titleist 913's and loved it. You may want to think about just ordering a heavier version from PING for the Anser.

I've got two Anser heads and about 5 separate shafts that I fool with. Going to add a G25 since the fitments are interchangeable.

I had similar results. Coming from titiliest 910 with ahina. I increased the loft and to the + and results were much better. I went back to the shop to get the higher lofted head. Hope to try it this weekend.

Thanks Doc. I really like the Phenom. I think I will order the Blur. Maybe another as well. Maybe I'll just get another Anser. As you say, two heads, 3 or 4 shafts. Keep you busy trying them all out. Lol. Thanks again.

I am a high spin guy so I really welcomed the Anser 9.5 with it's lower spin, added about 15 to 20 yards better than my g15  9* and g20 9.5 I demo'd  .  I plan on trying the g25 it may be more forgiving the Anser. I would love to try the g25 in a 8.5 maybe I could get the same spin # as the Anser 9.5. . I will see.

After another day at the range with a 10.5 anser, I am impressed. Love the feel of the stock tfc 800d regular flex (92-95 mph swing speed). Has anyone compared the 800d regular to the blur regular?

I think with a low spin shaft like Kiyoshi, Miyazaki black etc. the G25 would be hard to beat. That being said the Anser is the best I have tried so far.

Wonder how much of an upcharge for the G25 with one of the Anser's 4 stock options.

I hit both again today and the Anser just wins out for me. I even tried the RFE with both shafts and the Anser was more consistent and had higher ball speeds.

I hit the Ping G25 today at GolfSmith.  It is a beautiful club but it did not beat out the Anser in the catagory of distance, ball speed, or spin.  I don't need the extra forgiveness so I am sticking with my Anser.

I too tried my hardest on the sims and couldn't hit the ball further with the G25 than my Anser. This could have a lot to do with the shaft. I'm going to bring one of my shafts next time to try in both heads.

I tried both the Anser and the 25 on a sim today.  On solid contact, the anser was 10 yards longer.  I tried the ahina in both.  The G25 felt great, though.  I doubt that the 25 is going to be much more forgiving than the anser.  Ping lists both as "extreme" in the forgiveness category.

Can anyone comment on the G25's face angle? Have an Anser shafted up with a Fuji Rombax 7zo8 wouldn't mind trying the 25, if it's square to open
