They don't hurt the game. They provide gear for a certain very small segment of the golfing public. No one is being driven away by high end gear. There is plenty of quality golf equipment available at every price point.
And this is how you disagree with someone. Rather than being adversarial, calling me sad, challenging me to a chest beating contest. Bravo. Thanks.
You right, it is produced for a small segment. Think it would benefit the game more if stuff was more reasonably priced. But thats me.

As to the guy stating that a $1000 putter is bad for golf I just don't get it. How many guys looking to get into the game with limited or zero knowledge of golf clubs are they even going to be aware of $1,000 putter?? They are going to walk blindly into a Golfsmith or Golf Galaxy and buy a major OEM's gear because that is what they have been exposed to via marketing (TM, Titleist, Cally, NIKE, etc.) I can see them scoffing at the Cameron on the rack for $350-400 but a custom, boutique style putter that only golf enthusiasts know about??? I don't know man, that's a tough connection to make.
NOW, who wants to throw $100 in a pool of 10 of us and buy one so we can all try it out?

Did I just hijack my own thread?
That cameron bullseye flange is tough to beat as far as looks go. If value is the main concern you have to go Scotty, if cost, performance, feel, looks, street cred, etc. are part of your decision then you will need to tackle those issues with the help of some booze and some BST/ ebay trolling.
Edit: value meaning the retention of dollars if you are to sell later on NOT what you get in relation to how much you paid. These are separate things.

Your opinion is up for discussion as soon as you post it... no matter what crap (noun) you are serving...
I personally think Ferrari is getting that whole sports car thing wrong... ruining the driving experience... they should make a car we can all afford!

Evidently you have to wear a bracelet when you play and I can't afford them.
So I was leaning towards bowling..........................BUT..........................................these balls are expensive

A diamond "tennis" bracelot and a 35 year old antique bowling ball.
Well played. I graciously concede the point. I was entirely wrong. Sorry to have offended. Score great next round!

So I was going play tennis, and thankfully I don't wear bracelets, so it should be cool. On no--$750 for a racquet? Forget it.

I'm going to play basketball. A nice, reasonably priced sport. Wait, over $3,000 for a pair of shoes? Outrageous. I will never play basketball again.

1) what happened to Jeff McCoy? Is he not making putters anymore?
2) why is it that Scratch changes their putter strategy every year?
Personally, these aren't my cup of tea. James seems like a good dude, but i'm just not sure there's a market here. I hope both sides did their homework, and I hope James is getting paid up front.
